[SUBMOD] Reduced movement range for land units - DeI 1.2 Beta - 12.01.2017
This mod reduces the movement range for land units on campaign map
Effects
-you're forced to move your armies more tactical
-No more storm attacks from the ai and player.
-No settlement to settlement "hopping".
-More realistic empire expansion. The ai and player have more time to defend settlements
-Makes naval movement more important
Optional:
-Reenabled "double time" stance for Ships. This helps alot with transport ships

Nice. i hate it when in 50 turns suebi is taking very large land. will try it out with an new campaign thx.

i've tested this mod now for over 87 turns and i'm very happy with the results. more realistic conquest by all factions. you don't see suebi bunny hop to macedonia in just 50 turns. they are still batteling with boii. athens, sparta still alive. the only huge faction that is destroyed is seleucid empire because they started a war with galatia and egypt.

Love this submod - really brings another dimension to army movements now, since neither you nor the AI can't reach from city to city in one turn any more. In my new Epirus VH campaign, Athens can't zerg-rush me any more on the first turn reaching Larissa. Strongly recommend it to people who are like-minded on the subject.

awesome, i've been looking for something like this! the game is really broken when there's the settlement hopping going on... just unrealistic.

@ Imperial_Patriot : I've not tested it with a saved game. Just try it out, when the movement range is reduced, it works :)
But i reccomend you to start a new campaign. Only at a new campaing you will see the full effect
@ Splashngo : No, only compatible with DEI 0.96
I was also suprised what huge effect this little change brings with it. 80 turns and only 2 factions destroyed in IA campaign

Hey Don, awesome submod. I'm finding the move distance just a bit too short though, possible to get get a 20% version? I'd also be willing to change it in PFM if you could tell me what I'm looking for (never used it). Really like the effect this had on how factions/the AI is growing.

@ MattyCakes: 20% version uploaded. Consider that this version may not so effective for the empire expansions like the 40% version

Has anyone played this with an increased transport ship speed mod? What are your thoughts?

Great mod I really like it. Because it slows down AI expansion a lot. This mod works with increased transport speed It is less then it normally would be with the other mod but I believe it is still more then regular DEI.

Unit upkeep is higher when the mod is activated.

nice and thanks for that mod. sounds good :)
edit: the mod actually is savegame compatible. the effect only kicks in after you hit the "end turn" button and force the game to recalculate the movement range for all armies.
