one other question why the need for an alliance, my history may be hazy but did the Mongols not in fact attack the historical Saracen lands killing and murdering, and then sought an alliance with the Crusaders against the Saracens? Presumably a strong independant and credible 3rd position on their own as the Ottoman party will be better than to be the lap dogs of the Mongols who only seek alliance as they fear losing and have already had the accusation of cheating levelled at them, twice, for which they have been infracted.
