I think this has a place here....I already asked on the main thread, but it seems more fitting here, would it be possible to include the less lethal Chlorine gas used in the war? Which was more or a moral shock and to make the soldiers unable to fight, I know it probably wouldn't be used as much as the mustard gas, but I think it would a neat addition just so it's there. Also a suggestion for the "bigger" artillery, like The Paris Gun(That is if it's even added, one can always hope ) which was used to demoralize troops/civilians, would it be possible to raise the "morale shock" caused by the artillery piece firing and getting in a hit?
@BDIZZLE Sadly, The selection of units is hardcoded or found in a script (the latter less likely). My experience only extends as far as the DB and texture files. If we don't want several MGs in a unit, my suggestion would be to have an eight-man troop with all available special characters (drummers, fifers, officers etc.) and give them pistols. @ building stats I didn't see that! I guess it might very well be the column we are seeking.
Could I just ask the question, what do you consider the artillery currently in the mod to be representative of? Field Guns, Medium Artillery, Heavy Artillery? Or have you not thought about that yet? It's just that I'm working on renaming a few things in the localization and I was thinking that maybe I could rename "Fixed Artillery" to something more appropriate. Maybe you haven't worried too much about what the artillery in the mod represents until the model importer is out, in which case I'll just leave the categories for them alone. By the way, I think that you should include foot artillery (as in, the ones partly pulled by horses) as field guns, and also horse artillery (because they did have them!) in the mod. Also, dragoons as Bicycle Battalions? Once the model importer is done of course
Probably a mix of each given that I was, at least in part, considering our current selection of artillery to be representative of each. But most probably they would be, more accurately, considered abstractions of standard field guns.
Heres an idea, would it be possible to replace the earthworks model with the model of a wall and give that a sandbags texture?
@Josst I'll take a look at it.
REQUEST If you can, please determine the difference between fuse_shell and and fuse in the projectile explosion table. I'm wondering if the difference is simply looks or what.
would it be possible to remake the explosions to make them even more realistic (with dirt and mud flying around) ?
Ever looked at the expolsions files? Its easy enough to change the colour shade but to redo them, no thanks.
too bad then, its just aesthetics anyway
For the next update Aanker, can you raise the power of flamethrowers? They seem somewhat weak/not enough people die in the middle of a huge ball of fire.
