Infection: Survive or Die

I have a new and innovative Idea for a Roll the Dice Game. It will have at least the bare mechanics of a regular RTD such as 24 hour turns (duration subject to change). But would have a totally new outlook, taking you from controlling a nation on a medieval atmosphere to an intimate survival where you control a survivor of a mass epidemic that has caused hallucinations, loss of speech, self preservation instincts and cannibalism. That's correct... Zombies.

Your character would we created with your own created background, you will be able to assign your character a job and you will start your game in a place that makes sense for your Job. You will be on a map and you will have several places on that map, the map would be voted on at the start of the game, You will be able to find loot from different places, you will be able to obtain weapons and kill zombies and other players, if you die your inventory would be reset and you would respawn in the wild. Will you band together or kill others to get their loot.

After a certain number of turns, there would be an option to try to escape the island and who ever escapes first wins.

Is this a good Idea for an RTD, if enough people want to play it I will be willing to game master it.

This is a Proposal stage at the moment, I am currently creating a map which will be available in game if you find it, but I will mostly be using it to give you better description of the place.

    Rules

    Traveling

As you enter new areas you have no idea what ahead of you, Your only guides are your eyes, wits and your faithful weapon.
When you enter an zone, that zone will have a danger number between 1 and 10, this prevents a quiet village from spawning a city horde. Then what ever class danger zone it has is put in and a dice with that number of sides will be rolled.

    Weaponry & Fighting
In a cannibal filled environment, you'll need a bit of protection.
When you fire a weapon, a Gun Experience (GE) counter is added to your sheet. A D100 will be rolled when you shoot, If above 50 you will hit your target, and the closer you are to 100 the more accurate you are and possibly more damage. Per GE, a 1 will be added to your roll. When you roll under 25, you will lose a GE. If you roll under 10, you will hurt yourself in usage of the weapon. Bonuses are only added after the Penalties are added. This stops people from rolling 20s with 5 GE and not getting repercussions.

Each player will start with 100 Health Points (HP), A zombie attack will bring you down 5 hp. A successful Zombie Charge will take away 15 HP. Different Weapons give different damage.
Zombies will have 30 Hit Points, Rough Flesh Zombies have 45, Mauler Zombies will have 25. And Titan Zombies have 100.

    Looting
Currently, I have a program coded by a friend which randomizes what you will find where. When looting you will have a D10 Roll for the occurance level. When picking up items they will be put in to your inventory. Your inventory has a limit and each item you pick up will take up a slot. When you start off you will have only 6 slots. When you are over encumbered, you may not wield a weapon. This is mostly simulating you having to carry all the extra items in your arms. When you find some thing like a backpack your slots increase.

In Malls there will be several stores, and a random selection of them will be chosen. When you enter a place, what you find will be listed the items you can take, You can collect as many resources you can fit in your back pack.

The last few RTDs died not because of the lack of player interest, but because the GMs got busy with real life.
If you launch the game people will join. At least, I know I will.

Rules Update. Could I have someone to pm me when anything blatantly unfair is in the game.

    Some questions:

-How does the monster spawning system work? Does the danger level relate to the # of zombies that spawn, or just the type of zombies?
-To enter a new place/region, would a player simply state "I would like to go to so-and-so region", or is there something more required?
-Besides weapons, what other types of items will there be? (food, medicine, etc)

What will happen is. When you go in to a region it will have a different limit on how many zombies CAN spawn. EG:
You see a long stretch of road before you, there are 3 zombies here (Area X is a level 4 zone. and a D4 will be rolled, roll comes up as a how many there are.)
Moving. I have created my own map and decide where you are based on where you go. This map can be found as well and will be sent as a PM to you. Generally I imagine most player would follow the roads. and if not they can go off on to a field. What I will do is they will move however much of sameness there is in that stretch. Say, if there is a long winding road. your next turn will be when you get to a place that requires a decision, this is to stop repetitive "Go up the Road."

I have a list made up of items, the game will include vehicles, Weapons and some eccentric Items like cooking implements such as a fry pan and a special type of vehicle, which is a horse.

Incomplete Item list in a randomized order. Due to the way the looter randomizer is coded. Things saying "Register $X" the number of dollars is the highest amount.
This is a list by my looter program. So some things are repeated. Also There are several Misc Items which I use them like some other weapon. EG: The Fire Axe applies damage as if it was a bow.

I am, gradually, making progress. Due to my schedule my time to set up is being limited, I don't want this one to die like the others once it's start so I plan to start it when I get a substantial holiday, In this instance that would be Christmas Break. When school comes back on after Christmas, if I don't have a Deputy Gamemaster, Turns would most likely be once per week at most, since I could devote a day in the weekend to do it. This is from my experience in hosting Lenin's Roman RTD, But this will hopefully be less taxing on me, being their being no graphics or map unless a player gets it and there will not be any changes to said map. (Plus It's going to be PM'd to them) Anyway, in regards to turn time, I will promise that it will not be more than once a week (+weekend). The simple problem I have is Homework.

Now, I have a query for the players, should I add in a Metagaming rule, the biggest factor in this to consider is if someone finds a map. Not having the metagaming rule could allow members without a map to know exactly where to go and roughly where other player are. But the thing is I do have little control over who PM's someone what and also it gives me a difficult decision regarding deputy gms, since they would have to look at the map to know where the player is to tell them what is around them.

Do notice I say deputy due to Co-GM implies that they have also contributed to the creation, whereas they serve as an overseer.

Also. All those planning to play this game and sees this, please say that you are in here and you will get frequent updates and first choice on character class/job.
