I am creating one huge map of the world for a roll-to-dodge game that I'm making: World Wars. Has a World Wars RTD game been done before, or is it a totally new and cool idea that I just came up with? I'll probably get it done by late July and launch the game in August. How much interest is there in a World Wars RTD by the way? It will take place during the Renaissance like all the European Wars games fyi. Cheers! WC

Wouldn't the map be too large? Oversized maps come with their own problems, mind you.

Unless you can merge provinces to make it smaller, I think.

That's exactly what I'm doing. The map is huge; currently at 5616 x 2160 pixels. Hey, when I'm done do you want to do the thick black borders for mountain ranges? WC

    Thanks for the explanation Maximus

@WC Wow, that sounds epic, if you go through with this I'll definitely join. I'd start it a bit later than the Renaissance though.

What do you guys think about this:
    Random Events

Life is random sometimes… and to make this game more realistic, some randomness will be included.

Whenever the GM feels like it () he will roll to determine if there will be a random event. If it is a [1], [2], or [3] there will not be a random event. If it is a [4], [5], or [6] there will be a random event and the GM will roll to determine what it is. The affect will last only for that 1 turn.

[1]: Plague! – A terrible plague sweeps across the continent and all players’ moves in the Old World this turn will have a -[1] penalty point.
[2]: Freak Storms! – Terrible storms ravage the coasts and no fleets may sail safely. No fleet movements are allowed this turn.
[3]: Edward Snowden Leaks Espionage Secrets! – All players’ agent moves will get a -[1] penalty point.
[4]: Economic Boom! – Resources are plentiful and everyone is employed. All players’ moves of constructing a war fleet, important city, or trade post will get a +[1] bonus point.
[5]: Bumper Crops! – Farms are very productive this year with high food yield. And since armies march on their stomachs, campaigns should go well. All players’ moves of attacking regions will have a +[1] bonus point.
[6]: Nationalism! – “For King/Queen and Country!” Patriotic fervor sweeps across the lands and all players’ moves will have a +[1] bonus point in the Old World.

I'm planning on including it in EWVI. Cheers! WC

I like the above idea. How about some more random events?

It sounds good. Although I have only one worry: it means we will be at the mercy of GM whenever he unleashes his random events...

Thanks! The problem is is that a dice has only 6 sides and therefore there can only be up to 6 random events.

Ha ha, yes! But I think I'll change it to every 5 turns I'll roll to determine if there is going to be a random event to give the players some preparation. I'm glad you guys like it. Random Events shall be included into the rules for EWVI. Cheers! WC
