hehe cool, I forgot to check that thread again, but saw your post it was good, and on second thought that thread was a real mess I'll let it be Edit: Lawlz, just Lawlz...
Hiho Being a person that questions everything (to my self ) I think Agnostic would fit as an accurate description.
Welcome in!
Hi guys. Seeing as I have considered myself to be an Agnostic theist for years, this seems like the right group to belong to.
belated welcome.
I always question everything and tend to agree and disagree on many things - politically I find myself both left and right lol. The same applies for religion. In each there is gleamed some deep and powerful wisdom, particularly the teachings of Jesus and Buddha (although the latter is not necessarily religious) which I find are the basis for any legitimate thought process on morality and law in many respects. But at the same time, the Gods, prophets and institutions of these people are so baffling, particularly the nature and 'intelligence' of the God/Gods of religions who seem to change their minds, and bear a very very human face - to human to be anything more than a human fantasy. But hey, they could still exist - its just as likely as the invisible fairies mental patients tell you are on your shoulder.
The problem I see with belief systems is just that, people believe in them. I mean we all have reasons for believing even when we understand we don't actually have the answers. Some people are ok with that, and some are not. People fear death and so they "believe", though you can fear death and accept it too just as some people are able to drink and become intoxicated and others are not. I would wager most of the time our choices for believing in something are emotional attachments. Whatever we can find comfort in. For some it's God and existence, for others it's spirits and energy, for others it's unknown or a "lack of sensation" a release or an end.
Well, I used to be Christian Arian (The Roman One, yes) but I became agnostic after realizing that there's no proof supporting god, and that we can never prove he exists.
Proof is a tricky subject, for some there is no need, for others they have all the proof they need; and for others still there is no proof at all. Based on this I assume most things have some truth, but not the entire truth or they might have less proof than ultimate proof, more proof than no proof whatsoever. Don't you think?
I think that was a confusing statement. I need to read that again. I think I may have Dyslexia. Ok, now that I've read it 4 times more or less: there's more proof that doughnuts exist than there is ghosts exhist.
Greetings fellow agnostics. I find this thread very humorous and hope discussion starts up again. Cheers! WC
It will only start if you encourage it. Welcome Agnostic Warrior Cat.
