The problem is that with many issues in the Middle East, it's usually political grievances masked as religious ones. Of course, the end result is muddled up, and people aren't sure which one it is since it looks like a mix of both. The whole Arab/Muslim solidarity with Palestine for example. Jordan and & Egypt I believe have closed their borders to Palestinian refugees. They gain political brownie points amongst Muslims by condemning the actions of the Israelis but their actions suggest otherwise. It really is quite unfortunate. Generally, as a rule though, increasing the standard of living and education amongst the population reduces extremist problems. An informed and happy populace isn't often an unreasonable and violent one. Though, I think with the Iranian situation I doubt that Ahmadinejad really wants to use the nukes. I beliebe they will consolidate their facilities to enrich for civilian grade material, and probably leave the option open to develop nuclear weapons without actually doing it, Iran will probably become a nuclear power in the same way Japan or Germany is a nuclear power. Have the ability to enrich and make nuclear weapons quickly, but not actually have any stockpiled or made. It still is apart of the NPT and allows the IAEA to inspect their sites and so far, things are on the level.
I'm non-aligned/non-conformist Muslim. The problem always arises when religious identity and religious devotion is used for political means, and vica versa.

There are many stable countries in the islamic world, look Morocco,turkey and united arab emirates. Isreal was created by america thats why it is so western.
Well politics in the middle east is vicious. Whether it is in Arab countries or even in Israel, to an extent. And to make matters worse, Religion is imbedded heavily in traditions and culture. So there's no easy way to separate religion from politics, if it is possible. A commonwealth-like system will be greatly helpful to reduce some of the modern conflicts. And yes, I am sick of extremist violence and distortion of the holy books or religion as well!
I hate twisting the Holy Books and extremists as well. Especially that Zionist scum, they are threating the very fabric of religion with their lies and deceit.(No not Jews but Zionists, i think Jews are cool but Zionists are ruining their image.
