I couldn't help but to feel appalled by people's simplistic understanding about the late Roman era, and especially about the Late Roman army in the Vestiga Vetustatis section on TWC. Take this thread for instance, where many people just posted random stuff that they don't even understand. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=348631 Do you guys think we can do something to improve people's understanding of the late Roman era in the VV section at the least? Organise a petition to impose some sort of rules that requires people to back up their claim with evidence down there?
Why kill peoples interest ? You are correct in what you say but is it not better that people are interested and talk about the late Roman period, we can ignore the dafter comments.
I agree with Ray here, there should be an intelligence requirement for that forum, requireing that you must have at least a basic understanding of what's being discussed, and the topics should be more relevant, like Roman, Meieval, and NApoleon Timeframe only.
I agree, but this comment made my frown. I would argue this: has any Late Army made a successful invasion into Germany, into Caledonia or Ireland? People completely did not understand the use of the Late Roman Army.
You know, maybe we should actually try and put an awareness thread out there. With examples of what is and is not a late Roman Soldier or something. People need to understand history overall anyways, at least we can start getting rid of the Over-generalization of the Late Army.
