I was searching for your ancillaries ideas here yesterday Joris. I will start a thread just for that so we can start generating more ideas, patrician1 may also help. As for the coding, we might already have that covered between Amon Amarth and myself, I will let you know.
Add encoounter events, where an army of bats or spiders spawn inside woods and ambush you when you walk over them. Especially good in mirkwood and the likes.
I have already added 2-3 ambush spawns in every region. Great idea though, they are AWESOME! ...a bit scary and surprising too, and I am the one that coded all of them in.
Hmm. What kinda of unit with these units be created as? Cavalry? Infantry? Possible to create another category? Dwarf Drake Slayers, and probably Dunedain Beast Slayers would need a bonus against them. Just a thought.
If we get around to expanding the Map, Having a few Islands to the far west to represent the mountaintops of Numenor; which are run amok with nigh unbeatable Dragons would be a nice touch.
First play through of 20 turns one thing i would like to see is more variety of creature types in rebel bases..perhaps mix some orcs or goblins in with them...nothing big i would just personally like more variety in those settlements when attack em.. Fantastic mod i must say. I will be playing most of tonight and probably a lot tomorrow as well. I will leave a progress/bug report as often as i can.
Saw Alreadyded's comment on Drú's in the forum and just thought: Drúedain as a Retinue for Rohan? + movement. Perhaps already in there but if not at least it's been suggested.
Hey Alreadyded, have you considered adding bears(perhaps for beornings)?
regarding bears ...maybe you could just make 1 single unit with one of them bigger than the others..in order to rapresent Beorn and his bear company (there were many bear trails outside his halls that bilbo saw the morning after their visit..but i think that beorn was the last of his shape-shifting kind) on strat-map he would have the usual human model ,but during battles ,one would suppose he just transformed.. he dies-gets killed ? no more bear fun ... can't really remember if grimbeorn was a skin-changer too though...
