    Deadwood...

It's gone now *sigh* but still one of the greatest shows I think they ever aired. It brought a more "real" feel to the Western genre I think. I imagine the feeling it gives me is the same as the feeling felt by the generation that first saw the early Clint-Eastwood-Spaghetti-Western movies, after all those years of Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, etc -- not to put them down if you like them, just not my cup of tea

Deadwood is gritty, honest, brutal, comical, etc, etc -- and I never before saw such a "perfect" character as Al Swearengen, played so perfectly by Ian McShane

My favorite was Rome. Was disappointed they only green lighted two seasons. Oh well, I have a feeling that Boardwalk Empire is going to be my new favorite.

    Did HBO make True Blood?

I'm undecided on that. I think its the accents, not used to hearing them I guess. Which is funny as a lot of the actors are from Australia and England, I guess if they can hold those accents for that long it shows that they have some skill .

True Blood is the second most awesome American TV Series.

It is, however, the most ed up series in existance!

Rome is brilliant but for some reason I cannot compare it to anything else, it must be because it's historical. 3rd/4th best American TV program (Hey, it's up against Dexter and True Blood, they are hard to beat).

I wasn't exceedingly impressed by Six Feet Under but as usual Michael C. Hall was brilliant, can't get used to him without a knife though

Nobody for any comedies?! I was actually torn between Deadwood (my answer) and Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I still think is one of the funniest/wittiest shows ever done, but it petered out the last season or two, sort of like the second/final season of Extras...

Thanks for the invite Propaganda !

My favourite surely is The Sopranos by far,and then also The Wire and Band of Brothers !

What i do hope is that HBO will do a remake of Robert Graves' 'I Claudius', an old classic BBC drama series which was broadcasted on television here in 1977/78 when i was 11/12 years of age and really got me hooked on Ancient Rome ever since!

I Claudivs was brilliant but I don't think a remake is necessary. Brilliant acting by our finest actors and when occaision called for it enough gore and sex to make the makers of Rome blush - nah scratch that, that's too far.

I love ROME and it was awesome but the best HBO stuff is and always will be "The Sopranos"!

Darkhorse many actors from HBO series are from Australia and England. In THE PACIFIC, there was one Home and Away actor, who I saw.
