True. But the Vikings didn't have large units of elite archers, or did they, since I'm not sure.
No they didn't have massive units of elite archers, but what archers they DID have were absolutely great. The Germanic style of shield wall with insanely good archers still held up true with them.
Shield wall closed, archer reload, shield wall open, archers fires, shield wall closed.... And don't forget the dane axe...
