    I´m sure that in folders of original DotC will be good pictures, not only faces.

    do you think about Sherrwood? impassable to cross it, only one/two ways over it? these ways will be byway nut maybe with spawn brigands (with Robin?)? or maybe as extra region?

    I originally wanted sherwood to be a region of its own, but it is impossible to have a region with no settlement. So it will just be an impassable forest with a crossroad. The idea was if u move a character to within 2-3 squares from the centre then an event spawns regarding robin allowing you to request his aid.

    With further thought i simply moved that event to the EDB which allows access to robin from the other saxon lords and not just the holder of yorkshire.

    I dont want Robin to spawn as a brigand-event due to the fact that he is supposed to be allied with the saxons and will spawn later in game as a full faction (with possible hero units such as Alan-a-dale, Little John etc).

    But it might be possible to spawn a brigand unit from it when a norman lord enters the forest and delete the units after the battle.

    And we can always just make Sherwood Forest impassable and not worry about the brigands at all

    Hi guys,

    One option regarding Scotland would be to make a non-playable Scottish faction that never attempts to expand and merely defends its own border. This could be accomplished by scripting freeze/unfreeze AI events. Other options would be to enable the player to ally with Scotland at some point and of course recruit troops as mercs or perhaps as 'gifts' from Scotland.

    Hey Bruce and welcome to the DotC group

    Your idea has actually been thought of and discussed. We plan to have a couple of additional factions in Scotland and Wales that will just be treated like the slave faction. Being seperate factions allows us to give each a different entry in the related AI files so that the slave faction will act differently depending on where they are on the map. Of course, additional faction slots are used up but we are perfectly fine with that. It also allows trade and diplomacy with these factions. These special slave factions would also be almost bare bones, nothing to really compare them to the main 8 factions and they would not have access to buildings.

    Sounds really good. The Celtic nations may not be the focus but they certainly can be used to provide a bit of flavour (and Ivanhoe was written by a Scotsman ).

    Completely agree. and Ivanhoe was a great novel .

    Anything u would like to contribute is more the welcomed and appreciated. This project was originally started as pretty-much a solo project with no rush to complete. Since starting a thread in the Wips section it has slowly gained interest which i am greatful for. I more or less originally just wanted a basic map but since then it has evolved into a bigger mod idea i guess
    Im certainly in no rush to complete it and would rather do it properly and detailed. Real life just has a way of getting in the way

    Hey everyone, i´d recently contacted Absinthia, Riothamus and Tsarsies letting them know about my re-integration to tw conversion since i left twc a while ago, to my surprise they where still at their best =) , i feel lucky to have worked with them in the past ( very stressful times dont ya think?) any ways here i am reporting for duty! i would like to focus on helping you with the scripts since @sb already got the modeling/skinning area pretty well covered, although i can do pretty much everything apart from maps, maps from what i remember were a pain in the arse(seriously a real one ) i remember spending hours clicking dots here and there making a map look as good as i can get them and not even being noticeable to the public.

    Anyways the only thing i can add or question is the about the sub region, how are you planning to control conclaves from trading since to make a region you need a black dot in the map-region to make a new region, since you said they will act as forts, why dont just make permanent forts that are protected by and area of event....
    Lets say x 67 y 78 is sub region A and 8 dots squares around it are protected by an event that triggers what ever you need them for... well maybe i am confuse, i am not gonna be surprise since it has been almost a year since i stop modding.

    well what i fear is that the AI will see those sub-regions as settlements and sometimes the AI focus more in some settlements more than others( hit me if you feel like it) what i am trying to add is that by doing my say, you can manually activate events by simply going near that sub-region with a general to lets say pop up a reinforcement ...

    forget all i just said , i will re-read all the project and try to make more since next time.

    ah.. i was good at strat map models.

    Sorry T as you know I have been busy and still am but would like to create some 2d art for this if you haven't gotten anyone else to do it yet.?.?.? Starting with the "faction icons". As you stated they are individuals. If we could do a headshot? painting? or something like a 3-d looking head. Could even do a full body but would loose detail in the face..... Anymore ideas please post. Also if someone has some links to resources that would help me out. If someone else is working on this and would like some help or whatever I'm here.
