An Emissary arrives in Aragon's palace, and says the following.
"Most Noble Lord, I hail from the Holy Lands, from the Holy See. Your nation has recently caught the eye of the Papacy, may God bless you. His Holiness offers the following agreement. Each agreement is to be dealt with separately, if you accept one you may decline another."
The Diplomat clears his throat and opens a scroll.
"His holiness requests a trade agreement and an Alliance. Hoping this will increase relations and mutually benefit our two peoples. "

An old grumpy man arrives in Zaragoza, he declares himself a Venetian diplomat.
"Hello, old enemy and friend. I was wondering if we can fix the past and forge a future. We would like to have an Alliance with you. In change of it we can get you a foothold in the New World."

    To Venice
We also would like to repair the harm caused by the recent conflict.

The Crown would like to restore trade with Venice.

The King also offers Venice a deal: If Venice signs a non-aggression pact of 15 years (30 turns) with the Holy Papacy, Aragon will sign a similar non-aggression pact with Venice.

We hope to work closely with Venice, and keep the Western Mediterranean a secure trading lane between our nations. The King wishes you the best in your future conquests.

    To the Holy See
The Crown gladly accepts trade. As for the alliance... we would like some time to discuss this matter with our advisers.

The King was hasty in making alliances before, and it led to a messy situation in the Mediterranean... when 2 of our allies declared war on each other, we had to make the difficult choice of choosing sides. The Crown is not eager for another such debacle.

In the meantime however, the King offers the Holy See a non-aggression pact of 15 years. We only ask that the Pope respects our Iberian and African claims.

"Ah I see, many Catholic nations have declined in the same way. We understand we need to be in Europe to get alliances" The diplomat says.
The Emissary starts to whisper to him.
ONLY FOR ROGUE GENERAL, READING AND ACTING UPON THIS WILL BE METAGAMING

"Unfortunately, Sire, Venice has had a bad past with Pope Maximus." The Emissary clears his throat.
"We wish to get our home land back peacefully, but that is not an option when we have little to no official backing. We don't have enough Diplomatic power, to get Rome, and with out that power our only option would be to land on Italy... and that will usually end in war. Don't get us wrong, we don't want war... We need to be in Europe. But no one will willingly allow us to set up in their claims or Regions..." The emissary whispers.
"You see? We have no option, the Venetian doge is..." He looks around and makes sure the diplomat is not in earshot. "...a Irrumator (OOC: Latin Insult)"
"How do you suppose we go about things?"

"We accept your other offers gladly."
The Diplomat stops whispering and steps back.
(If you are to quote my whispers, Rogue, put it in a content box labelled similarly.

The Aragonese dignitary replies in hushed tones,
Only for Librarian, reading and action upon this will be metagaming
"Come with me," the dignitary says, as he leads the Emissary from the Holy Lands into a separate room.

From a stack of parchments, he produces several detailed maps:

"These are your claims, are they not?"

He frowns thoughfully. "It is no wonder the Venetians are irate. The Venetian war just a few years ago resulted in Venice losing all of their claims apart from those in Italy. Here...." Another map is unfurled.

"This shows the original claims of the Most Serene Republic of Venice..."

"... and these are the Venetian claims now, as a result of the Peace treaty."
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

"As you can see, the Venetians have lost much in the way of prospective claims. " He pauses, then turns to face the Emissary before continuing, "Small wonder then...that when a foreign power requests them to hand over the great City of Rome, Venice responds with hostility.

We understand the importance of the City to the Pope, but you must understand this : As long as the Papacy lays claim to the City of Rome, Venice will view the Pope as an enemy, and will eagerly join the Amazonians in war against the Holy Lands. For the security of your nation, the Crown of Aragon advises the Pope to remove his Italian claims. Once you secure your northern borders by establishing peace with the Amazonians, then you may discuss this matter further with the Venetian Doge.
Who knows? Perhaps Venice would be willing to exchange regions with the Papal States at a later time. But you cannot blame them for refusing to gift a foreign nation their hard-won territory. Especially not at a sensitive time like this.

Aragon will advise the Doge to show restraint, but the Pope must also promise to remove Rome from his claims. We hope for peace, and wish you the best in your conquests against the heathen rebels."

The Papal Missionary nods when the maps are brought out, he nods when the closing statement, but yet he frowns at one of the sentences.
Only for Rogue General, reading and acting upon this will be metagaming.

The diplomat chuckles at the statement of the Amazonians. "The Amazonians have made it quite clear that they would never side with a Man-Society, but yes I agree a common enemy does entice such people. But they are not likely to side with them anyway. I have secured an Alliance with Ptolemy, although they have illustrated that they will not take military actions against their sisters, the Amazonians, but yet if I were to attack Venice, Ptolemy would join the war." He stops for a bit, it is very clear that Spanish is not his native language. "If Ptolemy honors their Alliance, they would attack Venice, If Amazonia would side with Venice, it would mean that they would be, if not war, taking Hostile Actions against their one of few allies."
The Emissary waits for the information to digest, "Finally, the Amazons have stated it outright that they do not want the Holy Lands at all."
"We will rescind the claim, definitely. If we do so, it shows that we will be in a vulnerable state." The Diplomat looks around for an answer in his head.
"See. The reason you and all other Catholic Nations have declined an alliance, is because we are too far away to honor the alliance, even if we tried, it becomes a double ended sword, If we are to stay in Outremer, no nation supports us. Even the Ptolemaic Dynasty will not protect us against their ally. Yet if we are to attack Venice and things do act out as you fore tell, we will cease to exist."

"Our Planned Expansion so far has coined the term, 'Operation Hadrian' after the wall set up between Scotland and the Ancient Romans. The Expedition is to line our boarders, to set them in stone. Furthermore, due to the Grace of Norway, We will be taking Gotland as a fall back should we perish. After Operation Hadrian, Amazon has permitted us to build a fleet. That is to immediately sail out of the Eastern Mediterranean, but to leave it in Central would be a hostile act towards Venice, so we would have to rest it in the Western, near your waters. And building plans are being prepared to build a magnificent city in Jerusalem. But yet we have so much to do in so little time. His Holiness' military adviser is getting headaches in as what he needs to do, Hadrian for boarders or Gotland to have Norway be... happy with us, since we owe them the fleet they gave us, but this would leave our Claim Boarders open. I apologize for... how do you say? "Plonking" this information to you."
The diplomat rubs his eyes, "Furthermore, there has been a.. foopah in the administration of Amazonia which will not know if it will cause tensions."
"I realise, I am rambling now." The slightly elderly diplomat gives a faint smile.

    EDIT RP:
"Oh... damn it! I was just browsing your current treaties, Ptolemy must never attack Venice, well. Curse me!" He moans, "Our situation is... I cannot describe it with words that my oath of cleanliness will permit. Venice and Amazon shall always be a thorn. So much for The Papal States." He is clearly angry.
When he calms a bit. "Please forgive me for my burst of outrage."

We have signed the Catholic Treaty, and no doubt other nations will join. The Amazonians would be unwise to initiate conflict with the Pope.

Aragon and Castille have no love for the uncivilized and barbarous warrior-women... and there are others in Europe that feel the same way.

After a short journey across the Biscay bay, an English entourage arrives in Zaragoza. The magnificent Aragonese capital was glistening under the afternoon sunset much to the awe of the visiting party. There was little time for site-seeing unfortunately, as they were in the city on official business, on behalf of the Kingdom of England. They made their way to the jewel of the city, the grand palace, as they patiently awaited an audience with King of Aragon.

Once inside the throne room, the 10-man entourage kneels before the King of Aragon in separate 2 columns. Then, the familiar face of Sir Walter Harrford steps forth from the head of the right column. He clears his throat, places his hands behind his back and states his intentions to the Aragonese Monarch, "Greetings to the noble King of Aragon. I am Sir Walter Harrford, chief representative for King George I of England. His royal highness has sent me here to improve diplomatic relations between our two kingdoms, for despite being brothers-in-arms in the Pope's alliance, we have never been properly introduced to one another. We wish to set up an embassy here in your capital, so that we can communicate much easier with one another in the future about actions within the Catholic Alliance. It could even serve as the home for relations between NATO and the Southern League. We also offer a trade agreement for our two Kingdoms.
Sir Henry looks back at his entourage and nods his head. Almost instantly 3 men rushed forward, each holding a medium-sized chest each. They opened the chest and revealed the contents to the King of Aragon, tobacco, spices, and chocolate.
"As a token of respect between our two nations, King George I also offers these 3 valuable goods from the new world, as gifts to you."
Sir Walter then bows once more, and awaits the King's response.
