    The Medjeel-Cylon War
    1688 - 2501? C.E.

    Background

The Medjeel are a reptilian race which has a highly religious and imperialistic society. Physically, the medjeel are about 2 meters long, with green-brown scales, and a long flat head with a distinct muzzle. They have six feet in total; using four for walking and the front two as hands. This race evolved on the swampy and heavily forested world of Isorill in the Surta system [45;53].
The Medjeel believe in a rational God that upholds Order in the face of Chaos. These reptilians believe it is there duty to establish order in the universe. Their society is a rigid hierarchy with a divinely-appointed emperor at top. They classify other races as “orderly” or “chaotic” and ally with the former while conquering the latter. Most species they have encountered tend to be “chaotic” in their opinion.
In 1653 C.E., Medjeel probes found the Cylon Basestars in Amphilos system and observed them building Cytronia Orbital. They were baffled and amazed by this display of grand engineering and considered the artificial world “orderly.” They soon established contact with the Cylon Empire. At first they got along well, but the cybernetic beings kept refusing to join the Medjeel “Alliance” and would not teach the reptilians orbital-construction technology. The Cylons also insisted that the divine entity that created the universe be referred to in the feminine since “all things come from the female.” This did not sit too well with the patriarchal Medjeel.
The humanoid Cylons throw wild parties on Cytronia and engage in dangerous activities that usually involve explosions. When the Medjeel observed the humanoid Cylon lifestyle, they categorized the Empire as “chaotic” and began planning for the invasion of Amphilos system in 1680 C.E. They gathered a large fleet of over a hundred ships and tens of thousands of ground troops. The armada began traveling toward the unsuspecting Cylons.
A couple minutes before the Medjeel fleet exited warped-space near Amphilos, they gave a declaration of war. They claimed that the orbital, being such an orderly structure, rightfully belonged to them and should “no more be desecrated by the chaotic Cylons.” The Cylons of course refused to give up their homeworld and desperately sent a signal to all their Basestars out on exploratory missions to return. They then stored their humanoid bodies and downloaded into their mechanized Centurion bodies. Battle was imminent.

    First Battle of Amphilos, 1688

Only three Basestars were present near Cytronia when the Medjeel fleet arrived. They immediately sent out their Raiders to engage the enemy while they searched for targets to fire their thermonuclear warheads at. The reptilians had one battleship (which acted as the flagship), two carriers with fighters, and numerous cruisers and destroyers filled with troops being loaded onto dropships. All these ships were well armoured and the projectiles fired by the Cylons did little damage.
While the Cylons deployed kinetic weapons, the Medjeel deployed energy weapons. Plasma beams were soon slicing through the Basestars. They targeted the missile batteries, causing the nuclear warheads to explode inside the ships. Great flashes could be seen as the six arms of each of the Cylon warships were blown away, leaving behind what the Medjeel thought was nothing more than large pieces of wreckage. The reptilian fleet then accelerated towards Cytronia. The Basestars were far from defeated however since the hybrid minds of each one were still safe in the center of the “wreckage.” Their organic resin started rebuilding the arms and their molecular assemblers were assembling new warheads.
Meanwhile, the Cylon Raiders gained the upper-hand in the battle against the Medjeel fighters. These little enemy craft didn’t have much armour and the Raider minds were much more experienced in space combat than the Medjeel pilots. After shredding this fighter screen, the Raiders attacked the enemy carriers and entered their bays before they could be closed. The Cylons then fired their missiles inside the carriers, causing them to be ripped apart. The escorting cruisers and destroyers were damaged by the numerous debris which assailed them.
The battleship continued on, where it came in range of Cytronia’s rail-gun batteries. The Medjeel flagship was hit hard by the barrage of thousands of shells. It was able to launch its dropships before withdrawing, but it was too late… the damage was done. The Raiders shot their thermonuclear warheads at the gaps in the ship’s armor and… well, there is no sound in space so… in a great FLASH! it disintegrated into nothing but radiation.
The enemy dropships were able to land on the inner side of the orbital and deploy their tanks and troops. The Medjeel expected a quick victory. The humanoid Cylons seemed so weak and fragile. They were instead confronted by the heavily armoured, 2 meter tall Centurions. The humanoid Cylons had downloaded into these models to do battle and so they opened fire with their built-in assault rifles and rocket launchers. Medjeel scales form some of the greatest armour suits in the galaxy however, and so they took almost no casualties. Realizing this, they attacked with their plasma cannons, the bolts of which blasted through the Centurions’ armour like it was paper.
The battle was not going well until the Centurions began engaging the enemy in melee. The built-in metallic claws of these models were able to slice though the scales of the Medjeel. Once this was realized, the Cylons rushed forward. Once a Medjeel was killed, the Centurion would pick up its plasma cannon to use. The plasma bolts were able to blast through the scales of the reptilians. There was also the fact that when a Centurion was “killed,” its consciousness would just be downloaded into a new Centurion that would go out into battle again. The mortal Medjeel were fighting against immortal Cylons, and they were losing. And then they were destroyed.
The remaining fleet still had many troops and so began to accelerate towards Cytronia for one more assault. They were suddenly attacked from behind by three Basestars. The Medjeel realized with terror that they were the same three Basestars that they had “put out of action.” The damaged armour of the ships was being exploited by the Cylon hybrid minds to devastating effect. When the nine other Basestars finally returned to Amphilos system, the Medjeel fleet decided to flee.

    1688 - 2501? C.E.

    Data Collecting, 1689 - 1709

After winning the Battle of Amphilos the Cylon Ruling Council offered a peace treaty to the Medjeel Empire. The Medjeel emperor refused. He had a large empire under his command and many other fleets after-all. All he had to do was secure ceasefires with his current enemies and he would be able to send the combined might of the entire Empire and its vassals against the Cylons. Surely vast numbers would secure victory? It took over a decade to methodically assemble their vast armada.
Both sides sent spy drones to investigate each other’s weaknesses and protect their advantages. The Medjeel learned about Cylon “immortality”: their ability to upload and download into new bodies via a vast computer network, the hub of which was Cytronia. The reptilians learned – to their dismay – that in order to prevent this ability they either had (they thought) to draw the Cylons out of range of Cytronia or destroy that beautiful orbital, none of which they could do. The Medjeel knew that their strengths were their heavy armour and energy weapons. After improving both of these aspects on their ships in secret (which took another decade), the Medjeel sent out challenges for battle to the Cylons in sector [46;52]. The Cylons refused, not because of fear of being out of range of Cytronia (they had resurrection ships for that purpose), but because there was no point to fight on someone else's terms.
Meanwhile, the Cylons were studying and copying the captured plasma cannons. They began building them into their centurion models. They learned from their probes that the Medjeel planets were overpopulated and nearly bereft of resources. The reptilians relied on certain asteroid fields to extract materials to keep their economy and empire running; they didn’t have molecular assemblers. The Ruling Council formed a plan to send strike teams to these fields. Basestars are equipped with gravity-well technology; an ability to trap or move physical objects around themselves. This acted as their “shield,” since Basestars don’t have much armour, against kinetic weapons. It also allows them to enter an asteroid field and not get pummeled to pieces.
A strike team of two Basestars, named Questionable Ethics and Nuisance Value, and a resurrection ship was assembled. They headed for an asteroid field in sector [46;53] while the remaining ten Basestars guarded the home front.

    Cylon Raids, 1710 - 1730

The escorting Medjeel warships stayed a safe distance away from the asteroids while their smaller and more maneuverable craft entered. The cruisers didn’t bother to scan the asteroids because they believed no significant enemy ship could possibly be in the middle of that rock storm and be in one piece. The little ships docked at the water extraction facilities on some of the larger asteroids. The slaves were unloaded and began working with the machines on the surface.
All the water on their home-worlds had been contaminated by industry and “progress.” The Medjeel, unlike the superior Cylons, hadn’t yet developed efficient recycling systems to protect their natural resources. These asteroids that contained frozen water were now vital to the reptilian race.
It was another boring hard-working cycle. Suddenly there was much screeching on the radio waves as the Medjeel saw three missiles coming at their main asteroid facilities. FLASH! The thermonuclear warheads detonated and pulverized the giant rocks to radioactive dust. Any space-suited Medjeel or slaves that were flung off the base could see the nearby asteroids moving around what seemed like two spheres. And within those spheres were two Cylon Basestars.
The Cylons had jammed communications from the extraction facilities and so the Medjeel cruisers were unaware of what was going on deep inside the field. The Basestars used their gravity-wells to gather smaller asteroids into orbit around them and then moved towards the enemy. They flew out at the surprised Medjeel and shot their rocks at the armoured ships. The vessels were hammered from all sides and the armour started to dent and crack. The Basestars targeted the gaps, fired their nukes, and watched with pleasure as their enemies were atomized. There were no survivors.

Over the next two decades, more strike teams were sent out on more missions. All sorts of asteroid extraction facilities were destroyed in secret by the Cylons. As far as the emperor knew, the government’s extraction teams were just disappearing. The Medjeel populations and industries started to suffer from lack of water, iron, titanium, uranium, hydrogen and many other resources. Demonstrations and rioting are illegal in Medjeel space since both are “unorderly,” but heresy and terrorist cults started sprouting up despite the police’s best efforts. The gigantic navy of the reptilians had to be reduced since the economy could no longer maintain it.
Even while this was happening, though, the Medjeel refused to sign a peace treaty with the Cylons. They gave up challenging the cybernetic beings to battle and instead split up their navy once more, stationing the fleets near vital asteroid fields. Surely entire fleets couldn’t disappear?

    The Battle of Hydrax

    3/20/2504 AD

(we use the human years to make translation easier)

Hearing about the news of new deposit of gasoline and minerals on Hydrax, the Protoss Protecterate send their army to secure the planet. The Zergs however

had the same idea and they too send a swarm. The Protoss manage to establish a base first and set up their defenses. The Zergs swarm lands before the defense

can be completely set up. The swarms sends in the Zerglings (their weakest, but numerous warriors) to disrupt the defense, the Protoss however are more

than ready and manage to repel them off with Zealots, Stalkers, Sentries, High Templars, Archons and Void rays. The Protoss decided to rush the Zerg base, with

the help of the Void Ray and the Zergs lack of Air counters, their base is destroyed. However, thanks to the scouts the Protoss discover a Zerg army ready to

pounce on their base, as it turns out that the Zerg base they destroyed was nothing but a decoy. The Protoss army decide to destroy the Zerg base first and then

go back to reinforce the base. The Zergs launch a attack in the base, but thanks to Protoss defense cannons and the teleportation system, we were able to transport in

more stalkers, Zealots, Sentries, and Dark Templars. The Zergs had Ultralisks, mutalisk, Hydrolisks, Infestors, and more zerglings numbering up to 500,000.

The Transported army fights bravely hacking and blasting the Zerg away, but they start to get overwhelmed. With the main Zerg army gone the main Protoss army

manages to crush the 20,000 zerg forces that remained in the base. Once the fighting was over, the executor leads the army and attempt to assist the defense of the base.

With the combined forces of the transport army and the reinforcement, the Protoss manages to destroy the Zerg forces and drive them off the planet.

    The Medjeel-Cylon War
    1688 - 2501? C.E.

    A Horrible Setback, 1733

Another asteroid economic base was destroyed. The difference was that this time the Medjeel fleet detected the Cylons and was able to retreat some of their ships away before the attack happened. These survivors were able to inform the emperor, who then enacted new naval measures. The fleets would methodically scan asteroid fields before sending extraction teams in. And the scanners would be upgraded. Cylon spy probes unfortunately did not discover this and so the Cylons continued to believe there were no survivors and that they had the advantage.
In 1733 C.E., two Cylon Basestars, named Nervous Energy and Screw Loose, entered an asteroid field for a regular raiding mission. Suddenly they detected power readings in some of the large rocks. Medjeel plasma cannons revealed themselves and shot their deadly bolts. The centers of the Basestars were targeted; the Medjeel had learned from the Battle of Amphilos. The Cylon hybrid minds uploaded themselves to the nearby resurrection ship, giving out one last command before their former circuitry and tissues were melted by the hostile plasma. All their nuclear missiles fired at the asteroid “battleships.” Most of which survived but one eventually broke into pieces.
The Medjeel fleet, with their new scanners, detected the resurrection ship among the asteroids and sent in small fighters to attack it. These fighters were caught by the ship’s gravity well and flung against rocks, smashing them. The Cylons and their enemy then waited. The Medjeel had jammed communications and so the resurrection ship couldn’t call for help.
The Cylons decided to flee, and so they made a dash out of the asteroids. The Medjeel gave pursuit and fired their plasma beams. Eventually some of them hit the ship’s warp-drive and engines. The reptilians blasted the ship further and finished it off. Out of range of Cytronia, the Cylon minds perished.

When the Ruling Council received news of this, they were filled with rage. As well as deep sadness. No Cylon had died for over a thousand years. This defeat was a horrible shock to them. All raiding missions were immediately cancelled and all Basestars returned home.
The Medjeel began gathering their fleets together into an armada once more. And once more they sent out challenges for battle. The Cylons would still not fight a battle on someone else’s terms, but they did start preparations for an all-out battle; one of their choosing however. And so the Cylons finally sent a reply: “Challenge Accepted!”

    The Medjeel-Cylon War
    1688 - 2501? C.E.

    Battle of Salamzis, 1752 C.E.

The star, Gujarit, in sector [46;52] was picked by the Medjeel Empire as the rendezvous point for their massive armada. Already there were hundreds of shipyards orbiting around that red-giant filled with thousands of ships. More were arriving as each orbit passed. Well-armoured behemoths they were, bristling with plasma and laser cannons.
Suddenly an incoming warp-bubble popped on the surface of space-time, revealing a Cylon Basestar. Nuisance Value she was named and she was going to prove she was just that. Raiders were sent out to engage the patrolling enemy fighters, which they initially began sweeping away until the Medjeel pilots realized there was way more of them than the Cylons. And so they swarmed and blasted the cybernetic beings, who uploaded themselves to the nearby resurrection ship. This was all a distraction though, as the Basestar approached the shipyards and fired thermonuclear warheads randomly at any ships she thought looked rather ugly.
Soon alarms were blaring and the reptilians scrambled to battle-stations. Their big ships slowly undocked from their berths and began targeting the annoying Basestar. Medjeel fighters were being trapped and swung around by the Cylon gravity-well, giving a hard time to the targeting technicians. Once all the cruisers, destroyers, carriers, and battleships left their shipyards, Nuisance Value warped space and went away. She left behind a signal: “Catch me if you can [untranslatable Medjeel species insult]!”
The Medjeel admiral decided to give chase. This Basestar’s mind had obviously gone insane, so they might as well take advantage of that and destroy it before it returned to the main Cylon fleet (wherever that was). And so the reptilian fleet warped after it through the vastness of space. After a few days, the Medjeel noticed that the ship was headed for the grand Salamzis Nebula in sector [45;51]. They thought it further proof of the vessel’s insanity; star formation was taking place there and so there were high levels of dangerous radiation.
Nuisance Value exited her warped space inside a cavity of the nebula. “Come at me bastards!” she signaled as she loaded more warheads in her missile tubes.
The Medjeel fleet emerged from warped space a bit chaotically. Their ships were very close together as they tried to avoid the hostile gas and dust clouds. They essentially had zero maneuverability as they entered the cavity. The admiral ordered a quick barrage of plasma beams to eliminate the Cylon and then make an orderly withdraw asap.
Weapons were powered up and about to fire when a new fleet appeared: the main Cylon fleet of 11 Basestars. It was lead by Tactical Grace, who had recently been given emergency wartime powers. This “Empress of the Cylons” commanded her sisters to close off the opening of the cavity. Tens of thousands of Raiders were launched forward. It was too dangerous for the Medjeelto launch their own fighters because the carriers were so close to other ships or to nebula clouds. The Raiders focused fire on weakening the armour around the sublight thrusters. Tactical had her Basestars target these thrusters with their nukes.
The Medjeel cruisers deepest inside the cavity shredded the Nuisance Value with their plasma and laser beams, though she was able to upload herself into a resurrection ship in range. The Medjeel then tried desperately to turn their fleet around to face the main enemy, but it was hopeless. Most of their thrusters were blown away and now the ships collided wildly against each other, damaging their armour. Some vessels were thrown into the nebula, unable to repair their engines in time before radiation sickness took its toll.
The battleships were finally able to begin targeting the Basestars and fired at them. Unacceptable Behavior was put out of commission by having a bunch of holes blown in her. Another Cylon warship had its arms lasered off. But Tactical ordered her sisters forward. They were then able to use the surrounding wreckage and derelict vessels as kinetic weapons with their gravity-fields. Once gaps formed in the armour, the Cylons fired their missiles into them.
The battle ended with a crushing Cylon victory. One resurrection ship was damaged, causing some deaths of Raiders. And three Basestar minds were without basestars that would need to be rebuilt for them. But the main enemy fleet had been annihilated!

The Construction of the Golden Armada

    4/18/2504 AD

It was a dark day in Shakuras (well it is always dark in Shakuras, today's was just worst due to a dispute in the Adun Temple. The Khalai and the

Nerazim were arguing about who's fault it was for the last military campaign and the failure of constructing a new fleet). The Khalai argued that the

last campaign in failure due to the Nerazim not committing enough troops (despite the fact the Nerazim made up 70% of the forces). The Nerazim

argued that the Khalai were too cowardly in battle. Both side claiming that the failure of the new fleet was that one side had not put enough effort. At first it was

just a small dispute between the moderate groups, than the fanatics joined in and things escalated quickly. The Zealots and Dark Templar were in a fierce street fight

with the Dark Templar's holding the advantage with their invisibility, till the High Templar's started throwing electricity storms, many templar's and civilians died in the storm.

The fighting continued on for hours until a huge shadow covered the city, it was the mothership that was built for the Golden Armada. During the fight

Artanis had the engineers work fast to build the fleet they were planning on to try and gain the air advantage over the fanatics. Artanis teleported out of the

mothership and reminded the fanatics about the sacrifices that were made in Aiur and the pointlessness of the fight. The guilt/fear overwhelmed the fanatics

and they decided to make amend for the time being. Could peace have been achieved without the Golden Armada? Could Artanis have convinced the

fanatics to stop fighting without the might of the fleet?

He is granted access to the council (after recovering) and he is allowed to be the first one to speak. He reports what happened on the star planet,

he tells the council of the initial battle and tells them the great victory the Protoss army had gained, yet all of the council members face goes dark,

as they realize that there should have been more wounded teleported if they had won. The Zealot continues to speak, and as expected he tells them that

the army was destroyed after getting arrogant from the first victory. Some of the council members start to weep, and some are in denial. Yet only one person

    remains calm in this chaos........

Protoss survivor:.... and as I have said before, the entire army was destroyed by the inhabitants of the planet.

Artanis: What hypocrisy, Urun. I was speaking before you interrupted me.

Protoss General #1 suddenly decides rush's at Artanis with his psi blade, aimed at Artanis neck.

???: Protoss blood must not be spilled in the Chamber of the Councils.

A sudden voice came out and Urun's blade was parried away from Artanis neck.

    Protoss General #1: WHA.....

Before he could finish his sentence, Urun is knocked out and dragged away from the temple.

Selendis: It was a good thing to place some Dark Templar's in the chamber, the meeting is adjured for now.

Protoss Councillor #1 (yep too lazy to come up with names): This is madness, We are not supposed to have any bodyguards in the chamber, what is the meaning of this Artanis?

Artanis: Templars are not supposed to bring any Psi blade in the chamber.. care to explain this Councillor?

The Councillor and a quarter of the members draw out their Psi blades and escapes.

With the meeting over, Artanis investigates to find out why the general tried to kill him. He finds out that there was a plot to overthrow him and a plan to exterminate the Dark

Templars, and he is told that there is a army gathering at Talematros. Artanis leads the army and crush the rebel, the end.

Our warriors have put up a pitiful fight against the inhabitants of Srikan-8. We let ourselves be blinded by our pride. The Srikanians were much more cleverer than we thought, and knew their planet better than we did, unsurprisingly, they booby-trapped their entire Cities and tamed local predators for mounts.
The Srikanians weren't of human origin, but a arachnoid-looking species. Their weapons were highly advanced... it will be a pleasure to assimilate their knowledge of it and add it to ours.
But we should be more careful the next time we enter the planet's atmosphere. With more drones working on our factories and ship havens, I believe we should be able to produce a more...qualitative outcome.
