Rome's been dead for over 1000 years, you have no claims over these lands anymore

You know there were crusaders in Iberia right?

Yeah Order of Santiago or something like that

Yeah and a part of the second crusader army was told by the pope by not going to the holy lands but instead helping the reconquista in iberia

The crusaders were there yea, the Kingdom of Jerusalem however was not.

Knights of Santiago? Yes, I know a lot about them and their vital role in the Reconquista. They were based in Asturias de Santilana, right?

As far as death of Rome goes, Jerusalem was also dead by this time.

In fact, Rome had survived, but you know...that is not my faction, that is Aquila's faction.

The game begins in 1480 and Constantinople was taken by the Ottoman Turks in 1453, so technically not even Eastern Rome has survived... But whatever. I don't mind "ancient" factions arising in this game. I mean I was New Kingdom Egypt in V. WC

And some of us are completely fabricated factions with no relation or significant whatsoever to real life!

I like fabricated factions. I was thinking of choosing 'Han Dynasty Expeditionary Force To Europe' as my faction, but then opportunity to play Rome is better since it is a rare chance to get an empty Italy.

And then Genoa had to come along, and ruin your plan.

It is nothing new. In EW-IV I had to deal with Sicily (I was near defeat) and then Venice in the late game.

The biggest ruiners of my plans were my own allies. They captured Sardinia, Corsica, and other island territories that were really important for me. They refused to hand those territories to me even though they might have promised me to do so when I was allied with them. When more of my lands were captured in war, in pretext of helping me they recaptured my territories but didn't hand them back over to me.

This severely hampered my progress and power in war with the two huge factions, especially with Warrior Cat himself. I had to abandon Greece because I needed to concentrate on the home front.

THIS is the reason I am skeptical of people who take my claimed lands, and that is why I have not made more than one or two alliances after that game, and even those only when necessary.

You as Rome shouldn't have messed with the Queendom of Amazonia like you did in that game. You should have allied with her and then she would have gladly gifted you regions in Rome's claims as long as you respected her claims in the Balkan/Aegean and did the same in return. But noooo... you had to ally with the Imperial Monkey Alliance factions of Europe and try to beat down the warrior women in Greece/Asia Minor.

But two huge factions? Who was the other one besides me? Are you talking about Judacia? Judacia was always small, and then it went into anarchy. I was your main enemy, though I wished it wasn't so. WC

Don't forget, the rotten TEPA was our main enemy and we nearly beat you there. It was only at the last moment that everyone lost interest in the war and we two were the only fighters left, and we signed a peace treaty. As one of the two founder of Imperial Alliance, I am glad that it worked so successfully, even though we got betrayed in our own ranks.

Judaica was large, though. When the player left, it was a huge blank opening that took it's place.

At least you did a hell of a lot better than I did. I allied myself with that crazy African warlord guy for some retarded reason, who eventually left, and then my other ally Sicily got destroyed so I was instantly ed.

With Ducmania destroyed, Sogdiana being invaded successfully, and Judacia going into anarchy, TEPA was defeated. But the awesome Amazons were not defeated and fought on! I actually offered you peace, but you refused because you wanted all of the Aegean and since it was a case of "I was there first!" I refused in order to retain my regions. And when I successfully defended them, then you decided to agree to peace. Like I said, the way you as Rome messed with Amazonia was not good for you. You could have easily gotten a lot of rebel regions in mainland Greece, but noooo....

And yes, Speedlion's betrayal of you guys was genius! Probably the most fun part of the game.

Once I found out you are a nice guy, bradavies, I always wondered why you allied with that scumbag, Sith something. Sith was the main reason why I put the "factions cannot be based off of terrorists" part of the faction rules. He was so disrespectful. I'm glad he got bad rolls and soon left.

Sorry about not posting the turn results yesterday. Something came up. Hopefully I'll post turn 23 tonight. Cheers! WC

Well, as I said at that time and I shall say it again: I NEVER conquer lands that I don't want, just because they are easily captured rebel regions. I could have conquered Germania, I could have conquered Morocco, but no. If I could've gotten a lot of rebel regions, I don't care since I didn't want them at this stage, no matter who is trying to convince me, whether you or anyone else. I could've also said that you could have captured a lot of rebel regions to your east and north, but you didn't. Messing with Rome in the way you did was not good for you either.

Speedlion's rebellion was really fun. It put us into a state of high alert, and some members of our alliance were in panic. But once we came to know of the traitor, all of that turned into anger and jingoism.

    Hmm....did you mean [Sith]Galvanized Iron?

Oh...I don't get why you all hate that guy.

    Lord of Cats
Yes, I could have conquered regions to the north and east and I would have. I had already conquered Asia Minor and Crete, but then you came along and tried to take them from me. Believe it or not, I as Amazonia was not trying to mess with Rome, so you can't accuse me of that. I was trying to establish peace between us. Your inflexibility when it comes to diplomacy involving regions and borders agreements does not really help you.

Yes, I hate [Sith]Galvanized Iron with all my body and soul! You don't get why I hate that guy?! OMG, go back to the EWIV thread and read...

I am sorry mate, but YOU are the one accusing me here. I said, the same could apply to you as well. You kept drafting up nonsensical border agreements that usually favoured you and your allies, and no way I could've accepted them. You tried to define what borders other players should have. You tried to 'police' the whole eastern map. This game is not about establishing peace, either, so you cannot accuse me of being diplomatically inflexible. I wanted to 'win' using the historical territories, problem with that? I could as well say that I conquered Greece and Egypt first, but you tried to take it from me as well.

But still, I read that thread and I still don't get how he became hated so much. Maybe because of his use of word 'rape' or fantasy roleplay?

I didn't really have anything against Sith, his RP was just mental. I partially remember the video he used for his warlords 'visions of prophecy'. Like seriously, it was so weird...

Yes, I do. Sportsmanship. It's a game where you win by 100 regions, not by a 100 historical regions. I state again: you are inflexible when it comes to diplomacy. And your last sentence here is wrong. I would not have. I don't consider Crete or any Aegean island part of Greece. I didn't want any part of mainland Greece and would have left you alone there. And all I wanted in Egypt was the Suez Canal, but if you took the region I would have tried to negotiate a naval passage treaty with you.

The game is about having fun, and engaging in diplomacy and establish treaties can be part of that fun. I tend to get annoyed with the "barbarian" players: the ones who just want war to get what they want without giving a damn about anyone else. I like "civilized" players who tend to have a balance when it comes to war and peace because they care about the other players and want them to have fun too.

Let's stop talking about Sith, please. He's disgusting, rude, foul, and disrespectful to every and anyone. Him using the r-word in his excuse for "role-play" almost made me quit EWIV. There is NO reason for him using that word the way he did. Period. Oh, and for the record: if anyone here uses the r-word in an insulting way, you're going to get kicked out.

    Cheers! WC
