Arranged marriage was commonplace in medieval times - the game starts in 1480, which falls under the medieval-early renaissance period.

Gandalf, are you aware that you don't have a throne room in the group yet?

True. In fact arranged marriages have been pretty much the norm throughout human history. The notion of Romantic love more or less started with the troubadors in the 1100s.

This is a game!!! There does not have to be historical accuracy for goddess' sake! I don't care if arranged marriages throughout history was the norm. A lot of crap happened in history! I'm glad I live in the present, though the future would be better... You guys do realize that you don't have to stick with history to be creative. You can do anything with your people. Your only constraints are that it must be realistic, and not based on sci-fi, gangs, terrorists, or magical/fantasy elements.

Please, let us change the topic from arranged (*spit*) marriages (*says with disgust*)... How come the role-play thread isn't being used? WC

Yo, you started the arranged marriage conversation I don't see why your taking it so seriously anyway, it's only for Role-playing purposes, I doubt any of us here actually support arranged marriages. I for one do not.
And I intend on using the RP thread soon.

I know that, and now I want it to end because obviously most people here to not have the same opinion as me. I like games and fantasy stories because they take me away from reality which usually sucks. Now stuff from reality in the form of real history (arranged marriages) is coming into my game, and I don't like it. That's why I am taking it seriously.

Will you be writing up battles or espionage scenes in the RP thread? WC

In my defense, Attalus came to me with it first, and I am constantly suspecting NobleWoman is pulling my leg.

I am not. I was quite serious about it.

@WC I might do something for this second great battle of Nancy you put into the last turn, but it's doubtful. I've never actually Role-played a battle before.

What did you think of my final battle of the Egyptian civil war in the EWV group? The Ankhor vs. Hekhemmut showdown along the Nile.

I loved it The music really added to it. I believe I repped you for it didn't I?

This doesn't have to do with the game, but it's better if this conversation was here rather than on the main game thread.

That should clear everything up. I am a guy in a guy’s body lol. This conversation was funny considering that in real life I like to wear my hair long and sometimes people mistake me for a girl because of that. But, yes, I am a dude. I mean for one thing, this project I’ve been working on (that I have mentioned is making me exhausted) is my Eagle Scout Project which I am doing to earn the highest award in the Boy Scouts of America organization.

@bradavies: yes you did. Thanks again mate! I can give you tips on how to write/present a good role-play battle if you like. Cheers! WC

HOW TO AVOID DOUBLE OR TRIPLE POSTING BY WARRIOR CAT

Step 1: copy all that you typed in the textbox before clicking "submit reply."

Step 2: click "submit reply" once and wait.

Step 3: if it is taking a long time or nothing is happening, DO NOT click "submit reply" again. Click the "stop and refresh" button on your web browser.

Step 4: you'll be back at the textbox. If you are posting on a main thread in the forums, scroll down to see the "newest entries". If yours is there just go somewhere else. If not, then you may click "submit reply" again. If you are posting on a thread here in a social group, you'll have to go up to the navigation area to click the thread link and see if your post went through.

Step 5: paste the contents of your clipboard into the textbox should it get deleted with the refreshing and try posting again.

    Hope this helps you.

Also @N B Forrest: are you ready for war? If Gandalf doesn't change/clarify his move I'm assuming he's attacking you. WC

Kind of looks like he is. Although he did specify Poland, which would be northwest. Perhaps he isn't overly precise in his sense of direction?

@WC Would of been funny if that double-posted.
  17. N B Forrest

I've given this more thought. Unless Gandalf specifically says he wishes to attack Prussia, then we should not assume he does. He specifically said he wishes to attack Poland. Which is Northeast. Even if I wasn't there, due north is German territory. He said Polish. Therefore, unless he clarifies, I think his attack should be directed Northeast.

Better yet, since you, WC, asked for a clarification, if he doesn't provide one -- then no move should be made. He is not absent, nor did he ask you to move for him. And you asked for a clarification. If his move is unclear and he does not provide clarification, then his move should be forfeit until he provides clarification.

How many wars are going on in the game currently? I have just began one.
  19. SonofaBooyah

@Maximus It's just you and Satrio at war at the moment, the issue between Gandalf and Forrest is more a misunderstanding.
