I think soon it'll be a goodbye from me guys. EW has been my favorite RTD game series ever, but I cannot play around with someone constantly using unfair means against me (unending assassination spree, gifting my capital to a random guy) and sadistically ruin my fun.

Aside from that, he constantly annoys me by speaking as if I had been rejecting his peace offers. I offered peace, to make everything as it was. He rejected and tried to put thoroughly unfair terms on me for no reason (taking Corsica, demilitarizing my only sea zone that is Western Mediterranean, a ridiculously long truce). How can one agree to such stupid proposals?

And then when I reject them, he backs away shouting 'you rejected peace' all the way. It is like your neighbour asking to stop burning down your house, in return for your car, your family, parts of your house and agreement to never see you again. One cannot agree to such proposals, and he feasts on them.

Maximus, I do not know where to even begin.

#1 Assassination SPREE? My assassin was successful only ONCE in this entire game.

#2 As part of the peace deal I offered you, you would have gotten you capital back! The only condition for the ceasefire: don't attack me, or my allies! How in the world are those "outrageous demands?"

#3 Yes, my VERY FIRST peace deal I effectively wanted a DMZ in the western Mediterranean, I will grant you that. Emphasis on "FIRST PEACE DEAL". Afterwards, I was settling for the terms in #2 above!

    #4 Ridiculously long truce?
Maximus, this is my first EW game. I don't know what the "norm" is. When you told me 50 turns for ceasefire was too much, I asked for 25 instead. And you're now bringing that up as a reason for leaving?

#5 Let me ask you, Maximus, did you even offer Satrio a peace deal half as fair? You mercilessly took his regions one by one, until I felt bad for him, and started to help him out by gifting him regions.
At least Satrio had the grace to leave the game without making a fuss. You can dish it, but you can't take it? Extremely bad sportsmanship.

#6 Speaking of bad sportsmanship, where is the rep you owe me Maximus? (you know, for the first naval victory and all).I have dutifully repped everyone for their EW VI achievements, but you don't even have the decency to follow the rules and return the favor?
(I didn't want to bring that up Max, but your outrageous accusations that I am somehow being "sadistic" is really starting to wear thin. Add to that, the fact that you always seem to play the victim card... seriously, this is a game.)

    ANNOUNCEMENT

I am back in school. It’s a lot of work (mostly because I want to do well ) and I have less free time available. Also, because my school is in the morning (late afternoon for those in Europe) I will not be able to answer your guys’ question in a timely manner for you to respond to them (i.e. change moves if the situation warrants it) before the turn end. Therefore I am notifying you of this: on the week days I will spend a day answering questions/posting PM agent move results/clarifying moves and then the next day will post end turn results. So today is an answering questions/responding to PMs day. Tomorrow I shall post Turn 39 results. Thursday shall be an answering questions day and so on. Saturdays and Sundays I should be able to do it all as I’ll be on TWC all day those days. Thank you for your understanding. Your Game Master, Warrior Cat

#1 Assassination spree is for whoever is repeatedly sending these things, not just you.

#2 You handed over my capital to the other guy before I could agree to the peace, making your own sentence a lie. And as I said, if I was to retake Italy I had to attack him, which means you'd be jumping on me again.

#3 You cannot dictate the peace terms so easily, mate. First you keep asking for things that I cannot agree to, and then you get away by saying "you declined my offer" it gets weary.

#4 I had already told you about the number of truce turns, you simply didn't care about them did you? If I was playing for the first time and I was told that something is fixed for, say, 10 turns, I would follow it, instead of saying 'I don't care, this is my first time playing'.

#5 Satrio and I started as equals, first of all. At many times he had larger number of territories than me. What I won was a fair war. Besides, unlike you and many others, I never use spies, saboteurs or assassins. And besides, I never wanted peace with him in the first place, why would I make a deal with him? If you don't want peace with me, no problem, it is the same thing.

#6 I don't engage in rep trade in games, I had already made this clear hundreds of times. I also made it clear in the recent Jousting game, if you don't remember. I am not forced to follow the rep rule which is clearly stated in the forum guidelines. So, I don't owe you a single thing, let alone this talk of 'decency'.

If you repped all the players and didn't get anything back, that is your problem. You are not supposed to expect a 'return-rep'. But thanks, I think I might be giving proper reps to players in the next game. But again, I don't engage in rep trade in RTD games (and only RTD games). I rep people for sensible or funny posts, not for someone's deed from a random dice roll.

And yes, it's a game. But when you keep chickening out after offering outrageous terms, it gets tiresome. And when you repeatedly do it, it comes under definition of 'sadistic'.

Goodbye, good luck with your Cordoba, you win there mate, see you in the next game.

    Unsubscribed.

#1 Assassins are part of the game. You have them in your arsenal as well.

#2 Wrong, I clearly stated that you had until the end of the turn. When the turn ends, that is when the gift would be sent to the other player.
If you accepted the cease-fire before then, it would instead be given to you. (Check my post in the main thread here).

I also made clear that the offer expires at the end of the turn. Well guess what, WC is ending the turn tomorrow.
The gifting, therfore, will not occur before then. So if you were still playing, you would have 24+ additional hours (from the time I compose this post) to respond to the peace offer.

    #3 Same as #2

#4 You are twisting my words, yet again. I didn't say "I don't care". A direct quote from my diplomacy thread:

There is no "10 turn" limit posted anywhere.
I said I was only concerned about the current European Wars (VI) rules, NOT what may or may not have been the rule in past RTD games.
And I ask you again, where is the "10 turn" limit posted in the OP? You have not answered.

#5 Spies, saboteurs, and assassins are in the game for a reason. How is it anyone else's fault if you decide not to use agents?

#6 Then you are breaking Warrior Cat's rules from the get-go. The rules clearly state that giving rep to achievement-winners, and over-all game winners, is required by every player.

By not following that, you are breaking the rules (and saying that "I am not forced to follow the rep rule which is clearly stated in the forum guidelines" while benefiting from the rule (AKA, when others gave you rep for your achievement) is not only in bad taste and unsportsmanlike, but also blatant hypocrisy.

Are you sure you want to leave Maximus? You've been in far worse positions before, and if you decide to return to the game with a new faction it'll be even harder getting established. I'm warning you against regretting leaving the game, it may even be best just to accept Rogue General's peace terms. You're on the back foot here against two factions so if you want Rome to survive you'll have to be willing to accept a peace that isn't favourable.

Ahem - sorry about the formatting. I was on Evernote just before and for whatever reason it decided to curse me with formatting issues on everything.

Sonofbooyah - last game I did exactly as Noblewoman is doing, that's how I came second even after joining several turns after the start of the game. It's a good tactic, thought a little boring.

Rhinelander, think of the plus side. You now have more time to think about your moves, and more time to post your moves.

Besides... WC has been doing a great job keeping this massive game running smoothly. Lets be bit more understanding, shall we?
(I can definitely empathize with WC's situation... just started college semester myself).

Well as I said, I will leave then. A GM has to plan some time into his calender for doing that and if he doesn't he is at the wrong place and should let someone else be the GameMaster.

Nah, I am really enjoying this game. I like annexation and conquest, so I am liking winning region after region.

    And I have used spies.

I dont like building cities and stuff, I find that boring. I WANT MY BATTLES!!!!!

    @Maximus
Stop accusing me of being sexist, mate. I am not a sexist, but I simply feel that there are things that women shouldn't do. They can do those things, no doubt, but they shouldn't. Joining army for example. Police is fine because there are female criminals too, but army is an institution meant for men and women shouldn't be allowed there.
This was really, really sad, coming from someone who hails from the land near that of the Rani of Jhansi. According to you Max, probably she should also not have done what she did.

WC is right. This behaviour is very sexist. Especially, "they should'nt". Please dont decide for our gender. We will decide what to do, rather then men telling us that.

Dice rolls for gifting? I highly doubt that... every time I gifted in the past it was an immediate transaction.

Well, if you hadn't declared war on Simon, I wouldn't have declared war on you.
And if I hadn't declared war on you (and gifted my fleet), perhaps Lord of Dread wouldn't have declared war on you either.
