To a great extent, I support female rights. But there are some locations where only men should be present. Army and the military world, for example.

Damn, now you involved me in this discussion as well.

You can't do that either! Did you read the rules? You can only gift up to 3 regions once every five turns. You cannot gift all of your regions at once. You may try to do so over a very long period of time, but I doubt she will accept all those gifts. It won't be fun for her if she is just given victory and doesn't earn it.

And no, I am not ticked that I thought of this way to cheat to win the game. It's not good innovation. Sorry. Obviously we do have different ways of viewing the game. But you do not hold any cards, I hold all the cards.

I will now propose the addition of an unwritten rule that apparently should be written: it is not possible for two players to control a single faction. I'm sure everyone will agree to it.

@Maximus: what the heck are you talking about? Women can do anything men can do and that includes serving in the military. You are sexist. WC

No, I hold all the cards, my young friend -- for I can quit. Power is only held by people if those over which they wield it willingly give it to them. If I choose not to give away my power, then I hold it. It is a lesson of life that age bestows on one.

Fine. I concede that you hold that one card. But it would be very sad if you quit over not being able to merge your faction with another's. Just play the game the way it is meant to be played: one player, one faction. Thank you. WC

Who said the game was meant to be played that way? Where is that rule written? Lets make innovation to match REAL history.

This is a game, not real history.

It's great that you're thinking of new ideas NB forrest, but in this case, its a bad one. Tell me how merging regions will be fair to everyone else?

I expected many strange things in a game discussion thread. NEVER did I expect threats in a hostage situation sort of way. (and you can quote me on that) Mr. Forrest, if we were to mimic history, you wouldn't consider surrendering your entire kingdom, let alone your kingdom's sovereignty. That would match real history.

Anyway, joint-rulership is a) mutual mass-gifting, thus illegal, and b) only one player (other than the rebels) can own a region. That's why there are regions, to determine what a person owns, attacks, role-plays with, etc. and no one else. That's simply the unwritten rule, the spirit of the game (and it's gifting rules, I suppose). I'm sorry, it's the name of the game.

We could always appeal to L-Burna: he's been GameMeister of at least two European Wars (II and IV), he would know best.

I believe the word is chivalrous. Acknowledging women can do anything men can do, I simply think they shouldn't do certain things, like field combat or gritty police work in places like the slums of Los Angeles or Chicago. Nothing against women, that's how just how I think. Let's try talking about, I don't know, the game, now?

temetem has a unique role-play style, it's pretty good.

For the person who has sent half a dozen assassins (two of which succeeded) and three successful saboteurs, I am watching. I do not approve of such underhand methods.

No one should be allowed to gift their regions with the intention of making the other player win. It is simply ridiculous. Say for example a player has 45 regions, and another player with 45 regions decides to merge his territory with someone to make him win. This immediately gives the other player 90 regions and he will unfairly win within a matter of few turns.

@WarriorCat: Stop accusing me of being sexist, mate. I am not a sexist, but I simply feel that there are things that women shouldn't do. They can do those things, no doubt, but they shouldn't. Joining army for example. Police is fine because there are female criminals too, but army is an institution meant for men and women shouldn't be allowed there.

You can accuse me of being sexist, but likewise I can accuse you of being a female-phile as well. In the end we will all keep accusing each other. So I hope we can stop this discussion here.

Nor does it sound bad to me either lol. I definitely love females, especially young, smart, pretty ones.

@N B Forrest: well what are you going to do now? Everyone agrees with me (thank for that btw players of EWVI) that merging should not be allowed. Are you going to quit, or are you going to continue expanding your single faction of Prussia the normal way? WC

    What?

Ok, lets take a step back first.

I didn't bring anyone into the game to specifically "help me".
My bro is a strategy /rts fanatic (same as me), so of course when I told him about a board-game like forum game (the first I've ever played, btw), he was interested in joining.

Seriously, I could have just not said anything when temetem joined, and led everyone to believe that I did not know him, but that would be dishonest.
Besides, I want him to mingle with the TWC community more.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
He's a LOL (League of Legends) fanatic, and I'm trying to slowly convert him to the glory of TWC. Part of the reason he isn't as into Total war as I am is because his computer is pretty cr***y, and he cannot play M2TW without major lag.

...I consider myself lucky to have a laptop capable of playing Rome II on low/med settings.

@N B Forrest Just because you chose to start in the Baltic doesn't mean what has happened to Maximus couldn't of happened to you. That Philip guy you and Finska destroyed could of brought in a player also and told him to start right next to your capital or something. I'm well aware this didn't happen, but it could have, and you never know, it might happen to you in the next game.

Again, I know not everything is fair in games/life ect. I'm just pointing out the fact that what Rouge and temtem have done doesn't see very fair to me.

NW's strategy, whilst clearly the best strategy to win the game, is very boring. Starting right in the corner of the map and just taking region after region. No building ships, or building cities, or building forts. Not even using spies. Just attacking regions. A game is supposed to be fun too you know, it's not just about winning.

@Rouge I'm not saying you definitely did bring temtem into the game just to help you, It just looks rather suspicions to me. Especially since he's not even bothered to take regions in Sicily, he's just gone straight ahead and started harassing Maximus in Italy by taking loads of regions in Italy directly bordering him, all of this of course, being of great aid to you. Maybe I am wrong, and I'm just being far too over-suspicious, but can you see why I think that way at least?
And I have nothing against temtem joining TWC at all, why would I? It's just his tactics in the game that concern me.

This has actually happened twice or thrice in EW IV if I remember well. L-Burna just kicked all newcomers, dealt with it that way, although it seemed too harsh for me, the reason why i quit EW IV.

So what if someone starts next to me or declares war on me. So what? It is the game! And this is but a game. Philip could have done anything. He didn't. We can play "what if" until the new year comes in. Personally, I think this non-accusation accusation should be dropped.

I didn't like WC getting you all to crap on my joining empires idea. But he is the gamemaster. If I don't like it I can quit. But why spoil his first go as gamemaster? So I just swallowed the distasteful episode and played on. Nothing is perfect. I think we should just drop the whole subject. And with this comment, I'm not commenting anymore.

Well, technically, it's "Kingdom of Simon" (not Sicily) and he's playing as a... shall we say, "loopy", character.
How does one role-play as such a character? I don't quite know, but Simon seems to have chosen his path...
Trust me, he's not (that) loopy IRL.

The fact that everyone went nuts about this is that it was actually forbidden since EW ...III I think. I think it slipped through the OP, but it was a rule. As newcommer, I can't blame you for not knowing that. However, I, the old guard of EW I am, do favor sportmanship in the coliseum, instead of finding loopholes in the rules. Fair play only adds to fun for the greater group playing according to the rules. Abusing, no offense, these loopholes are only favorable for a small group of players and will spoil the fun for the greater group of players, trying to play according to the rules. From my experience, playing according to the rules is much more satisfying, for everyone.

@Forrest I was only playing the 'what if' game because I was curious as to whether you would retain this 'all's fair in love and war' attitude if you were the victim in this situation.
As for the second part of your comment, Ciloron sums it up better than I ever could.
