Hmmm... perhaps you were under the influence of something at the time of viewing and the effect wore off once you had finished the movie? but I've never seen the movie myself what's it about?
  2. Ulyaoth

It's about an IRS agent who starts hearing the voice of a British author who is unkowingly writing a book about him, planning on killing him at the end.
  3. Armatus
    Armatus
meh... I think I saw the previews of this at the theater.

Lover of Wisdom i am always want to know more and more and more and ofcourse why...

the reason i am not the greatest philosopher in the World now lol is because i cant be bovered to do my homework
  5. Armatus
    Armatus
The only real homework necessary is to take time out to think. After all before there were books there were still thoughts right?
  6. Armatus

Two questions for you all (as you would understand it)

    1. Does the sword hold more power to take life or preserve it?

    2. Is this a valid question?
  7. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
I think that the only way to preserve the lives of some people, you have to take the lives of others.
That is the way in war, at least this is my opinion about this.
  8. Armatus
    Armatus
So we preserve the sword in order to preserve life. It is a shame our brothers force us into keeping the sword. How about nukes? Do nukes have more power to destroy life or preserve it?
  9. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
Bombs are of a whole different thing, Armatus. You cannot compare the destructive power of one bomb with the power of a thousand swords... And with those bombs, even after the explosion did its harm, it remains
dangerous, with its radioactivity making life their virtually impossible...

So, I think that bombs' only purpose and use is to utterly destroy, not preserve life.
  10. Armatus
    Armatus
Galerius my dear friend, I think we would do well to send you to speak with our heads of state.
  11. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
    Thank you very much, Armatus.

    I have a question:
There is a flaming building with two rooms, all filled with people, how do you decide which to save, since you do not know who's inside which room?
You only have the chance to save one room...
  13. Armatus
    Armatus
This reminds me of a line from a movie can't place the name at the moment... anyway is this a trick question?
  14. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
No, how would you deal with it?
  15. Armatus
    Armatus
Well giving you a straight answer then I would require more detail, am I closer to one room or the other, is the distance to the exit equal from either room? Are the flames equally barring down upon the rooms? Do I hear voices coming from these rooms and am I able to estimate the number of individuals as well as the sex, and ages of the people? With the level of detail given you would be no more correct to make a random choice.
  16. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
The rooms are of equal size, with the same number of people, and the flames and rubble are equally much barring both rooms, you are not able to know the gender or age, nor the amount of people inside, and there is only one exit, where you came from. You only have time to rescue one, for you only have enough time before the exit, and your only way out, is consumed by flames.
  17. Armatus
    Armatus
Well then the noble thing to do would be to die saving both rooms of people, but if that still is not possible, I'm a little perplexed. I may as well just choose the room to my "right" because right is always "right" right?
  18. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
    Yes, noble indeed it is...

I have another question, how would you describe Time?
  19. Ulyaoth
    Ulyaoth
Whan an incredibly thought/rage invoking question. I have no idea. The only thing I could say is it's the ability of things to do.
  20. Galerius Priscus
    Galerius Priscus
If I would have to describe it, I would say that it is as a river, endlessly flowing, but it has a source, a beginning, like birth, and it has an end, when it flows into the sea, sybolizing death, and the sea is where everything ends, and where all is gathered.
