- Upgrades
- -4000 to upgrade 10% - 5,500 total
- -8000 to upgrade 15% - 6,325
- -14,000 to upgrade 30% - 8,225
- - but loss 10% of size of levied peasants
- Ronin cost 500 koku to hire – plus 500 a year – this is the land you have given them
- You can increase their holdings in 500 increments to reward them for success in battles
- This is subtracted from your total income automatically – you cannot withhold payment
Foreign trade
You may conduct 1 foreign trade mission a year at 1000 koku per mission– success will be determined by roll
2 successful silk mission give (new kimonos +1 influence pt)
2 successful cotton missions (cotton for the peasants +1 peasant popularity)
2 successful incense missions (needed for monks and tea ceremonies +1 tradition pt)

Castles Upgrades
Tier 0 - A large village - no walls or defensive elements exist (All provinces start with this)
Tier 1 5000 Koku – a Simple wooden palisade with a main gate and towers for arrows
Tier 2 8000 Koku – Wooden walls
Tier 3 15,000 Koku – Stone Walls with a moat
Tier 4 25,000 Koku - Double Stone Walls with a moat
Dojos - Only 1 Dojo per province
Bonuses affect all your recruited units. Bonuses will stack if you have more than one of each dojo. To a maximum of +4.
Sword Dojo 7,500 Koku
- All Samurai sword units will get a +2 roll
Spear Dojo - 7,500 Koku
- All Samurai spear units will get a +1 roll
- All Ashigaru spear units will get a +1 roll
Archery -7,500 Koku
- All Archer units will get a +1 roll
Horse - 7,500 Koku
- All horse units will get a +1 roll
Other Buildings
Chashitsu -(2,500 upgrades available) Here is where you perform tea ceremonies for guests and your own samurai.
Buddhist Temple - (9,000) Helps convert your provinces to Buddhism. You can also visit the temples to meditate.
Christian Mission - (3,000) converts the province to Christianity.
