perhaps it would be better to do biographies first as the campaign descriptions would probably be easier after you have played the first version of the game. i suppose the most pressing of biographies are the faction leaders so that is: Aery's , Robert, Eddard, Jon Arryn, Jon Connington, Randyll Grafton, Hoster, Tywin, Balon, Doran, Luthor . the Darry leader isnt finalised. also Rhaegar take your time guys there are a lot of you
  5. Sandy

yep im a writer. Im happy to take half the faction leaders.
Machoking: shall i take the first half up to JC and you take the second?

sure. Rhaegar will be fun to write. Nothing like a book worm with a sword that he knows how to use. Do we have a word count limit we need to stay within?

i havent set you any parameters so make them as long as you would like (dont go over board )

if it wasnt too clear luthor is luthor tyrell, there is no date of his death and i thought it woud be cool to have him.

Don't really know what the 'Rivers and Hills deal' was, so i'm not sure what to request.

But if there's anything going, i'd be happy to put something together.

(Yes this is me presenting myself to be locked away in the writing dungeon.)

I'll email Dux saying I'm bringing you onto Rivers and Hills and we'll split the unit descriptions, I've done a couple already so you can see the kind of style I'm going for.

So I got a bunch of Bios done. Two questions. Am I emailing these or just posting them here? And second Doran is not Lord of Sunspear at the start of Roberts Rebellion. It is an unknown woman, his mother. Everything I found suggests that Doran became Lord Paramount/ Prince during the rebellion or shortly thereafter. I think it is safe to assume since they dont even have a name for this faction head, we are simply making Doran faction leader, but I thought I would ask.
  11. kiwibloke
    kiwibloke
yes i looked at that too but as we cant make women faction leaders doran will stay.
i supose you should just post them here (if they are long chuck them in a spoiler)

K, ill post them in a day or two. Btw, when I was writing Tywins bio I came across something that doesnt seem right. The Bio claims he became Hand of the King at 20 years old. Yet his father died when he was 24. Is it possible to be Hand of the King and not be a high lord or even a lord at all. Sure he was a heir, but he wasnt a lord yet.
  14. kiwibloke
    kiwibloke
on wiki of ice anc fire it looks like tywin became lord before hand but im not sure. also i suppose an heir can be hand, in fact anyone can be hand

Here we go. Sorry for the delay since I told you I finished as I went on vacation right after that. Feel free to suggest rewrites or corrections. The ones with little info on I took some small liberties with. Also some feel too long to me.

    Randyll Grafton
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Lord of Gulltown and traditional vassal Lord pledged to Jon Arryn of the Vale. Randyll as Lord of Gulltown is by extension one of the richest and most powerful Lords within the Vale with the exception of the Arryn's themselves. Gulltown is by far the largest and most lucrative of cities and ports in the Vale which has afforded Randyll Grafton and his family large amounts of influence within the Vale. With the start of rebellion between the King and the rebal Lords of Stark, Baratheon, Tully, and his ledge Lord Arryn, Randyll has chosen to remain loyal to The King and his oath, believing it supersedes his oath to his ledge lord. As a result he has closed Gulltown to the Arryns and Robert Baratheon in an attempt to keep Robert from reaching his own Kingdom of the Stormlands. Randyll is relying on the other loyalists Lords to aid him if and when Jon Arryn or Robert attempt to flea or fight the King.

    Hoster Tully
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Lord of Riverrun, Head of House Tully and Lord Paramount of the Trident. Hoster was born in 235AL and by all accounts was a energetic and zestful child. In his teen years it was said he could never stay still for very long and was always traveling somewhere. By the time of his father's death, Hoster became Lord of Riverrun, head of his house and Lord Paramount of the Trident. His only brother Brynden the Black Fish was his greatest supporter in this time. Hoster's made a good lord and distinguished himself greatly not only in politics but in war too. Having served in the War of the Ninepenny Kings, Hoster distinguished himself as a leader of men. Yet for all his skill and renown, Hoster was still at the mercy of fate, for unless he produced an heir, his family name would die with him and his brother. Thus Hoster married Minisa Whent who was a member of House Whent, the strongest vassal of House Tully. Minisa and Hoster were said to be very happy together but, they constantly struggled to produce a male heir for Hoster. The first two attempts ended in miscarriage. The second two gave birth to two daughters. Catelyn and Lysa. Then finally in 273AL, Minisa gave birth to Edmure which secured House Tully's continued existence. Sadly a few years after this, Minisa would die giving birth to a second still born son. The death of Minisa struck Hoster hard. Not only did he not remarry, but there are no accounts of him even taking a lover, though some suggest a local tavern owner has enjoyed the privilege. Yet despite the end of his chances to have a second son, Hoster did not give up on trying to ensure his families continued existence. He turned to his unmarried brother Brynden and attempted to have him marry a member of House Redwyne, but Brynden would hear nothing of it and till this day has refused to marry. This upset Hoster to no end and has created a split between the two brothers that is still going strong. Turning his attention to his daughters, Hoster has promised Catelyn to the heir of the Stark's of Winterfell, Brandon Stark, and Lysa was refused to Petyr Baelish, a ward of Hoster's, in hopes she can be married so someone higher born. With the outbreak of rebellion and his own middle age, Hoster has sided with the rebel families of Stark, Arryn, and Baratheon. This has split his land and his lords in half as some have declared for the King and others for Hoster. In order to strengthen his ties with the other rebel Lords, Hoster has since promised Lysa's hand to Lord John Arryn of the Vale and Catelyn to Eddard Stark, since Brandon Stark was killed by the King at the start of the rebellion. As the first line of defense in the war, Hoster is once again going to have to prove he is a leader of men and defend his land against friends and foes.

    Tywin Lannister
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Lion of Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock, Shield of Lannisport, Warden of the West, and former Hand of the King. Tywin Lannister is the richest and perhaps most feared man in all of Westeros. Obsessed with maintaining and propelling his families prestige and respect, Tywin is a cold, calculating, ruthlessly controlling man. Nearly as deadly with a sword as he is with a quill, Tywin commands a powerful presence that he has cultivated since childhood. Born around 242AL to Tytos Lannister, Tywin spent his youth watching his father waste and weaken the Lannister name. As a result, Tywin took ruthless steps to rectify his families position after his father died. Among those deeds, two of the most unruly houses pledged to the Lannisters were destroyed as an example. The act was so extreme that the song "The Rains of Castamere" was created as a tribute to the event. If that wasn't enough, Tywin was determined to set himself apart from his father's weakness, and no better example was set when Tywin had his late father's mistress stripped naked and forced to walk the streets of Lannisport confessing to every man she met that she was a thief and a harlot. Once she was finished, Tywin banished her for ever from the Westerlands. With his rule consolidated, Tywin took many steps towards reclaiming the Lannisters former glory and in a short time not only reclaimed it, but surpassed it and turned his family into one of the most powerful in all of the seven kingdoms. The foundation for all of this started when Tywin married his own cousin, Joanna Lannister at a very young age and soon thereafter was appointed Hand of the King at the age of 20 before his fathers death and his ascension to High Lord of the Westerlands. Tywin would go on to serve 20 years as the Hand of the King, one of the longest running and powerful Hands in history. Tywin was so powerful that many in Westeros claimed he was the real King. This of course did not sit well with King Aerys who grew increasingly more paranoid with Tywin and the power he wheeled. In 266AL Joanna and Tywin had twins, Jamie and Cersei, who would dream to become Queen and High Lord. In 274 Joanna died giving birth to their third child Tyrion who forever after drew the hatred of Tywin for taking the only source of happiness in his life. It is said that when Joanna died, so did Tywin's smile. In 281AL all that Tywin had built and hoped for started to fall apart. His son Jamie, now between 15 and 16 was raised from Knight to Kings Guard and effectively stealing Tywin of his choosen heir. Additionally Tywin's dream of Cersei being queen were dashed by King Aerys's refusal to accept her as his sons wife. All of this was too much for Tywin to sollow and after 20 years of giving Westeros peace and prosperity, he resigned his position as Hand of the King and returned to the Westerlands with all of his force and glory. With the break out of rebellion, Tywin has remained decidedly silent. Neither siding with the rebels or openly declaring for the King, Tywin sits and waits.

    Balon Greyjoy
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Head of House Greyjoy, Lord Reaper of Pyke, Lord Paramount of the Iron Islands, and Captain of the Great Kraken. Balon is a profoundly religious man who follows the Old Way of the Ironborn and the Drowned God. As a result of his beliefs, Balon is uncompromising. He is a hard man with high ambitions and a absolute dedication to bringing the Ironborn back to greatness. The eldest surviving son of Lord Quellon Greyjoy, Balon has three other surviving brothers: Euron, Victarion, and Aeron. At a very young age Balon showed his first sign of greatness when he first learned to sale. By the time he turned 10, Balon scaled the Flint Cliffs to the Blind Lord's haunted tower. By the time he was thirteen he was an expert oarsman. By 15 he was reaving in the Stepstones and killed his first man while taking two salt wives. At 17 Balon captained his first longship and from that point on became known for his fierceness and fearlessness. Sometime after, Quellon died on a reaving and Balon became Lord Reaper of Pyke and forever after would be known as a harsh ruler for his judgment that the Maester that failed to save his brother, Urrigon, be inflicted with the same injury and left to die. Shortly after succeeding his father, Balon married Alannys Harlaw and has fathered 4 children: Rodrik, Maron, Asha, and the newly born Theon. With the start of Roberts Rebellion, Balon seems to have little interest in who wins and has declared himself and the Iron Islands neutral.

    Doran Martell
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The new Prince of Dorne and Lord of Sunspear. Doran was born in 248AL into the royal family of Dorne and is the first and the oldest surviving child of the then Princess of Dorne. His other siblings are: Mors, Olyvar, Elia, and Oberyn. Mors and Olyvar died as children while Elia has lived on to marry Rhaegar Targaryen. His youngest brother, Oberyn, on the other hand, has never married and in fact is famous for fathering bastards. Doran is 10 years older than his surviving siblings and as a result grew up separate from them. His personality is in contrast with that of his brother and sister. Where his siblings are impetuous and opinionated, Doran is cautious and pensive. He keeps his thoughts to himself and calculates and thinks out his moves. This has resulted in Doran coming across as a secretive and quite man. Some see it as a weakness but it is his greatest advantage. In his youth Doran enjoyed the privileges of being a Prince of Dorne. When he was old enough, Doran traveled and toured the Free Cities where he met his wife, Mellario of Norvos. Mellario was a noble woman, but the marriage was not for money or politics but rather for love, a rare occurrence in the nobility of Westeros. However despite marrying for love, it has never been an easy marriage because Mellario has had trouble adjusting to Dornish customs. Yet despite these troubles, they have managed to have one daughter, Arianne, however rumor has it that Mellario is currently pregnant with her second child. Since ascending to Lord of Sunspear and Prince of Dorne, Doran has maintained his family and Kingdoms close relationship with the Targaryen's. As a result, he has declared himself for the Targaryen's since the outbreak of rebellion, but has yet to commit his army to the cause.

    Luthor Tyrell
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Lord of Highgarden, Warden of the South, head of House Tyrell, and High Marshal of The Reach. Luthor Tyrell is a tedious man with an inflated sense of self importance. He is considered to be not very bright and has a tendency to be easily distracted. Old and out of shape now, Luthor in his younger years was said to be rather strapping and strong. Before he became lord paramount of the Reach, he married Olenna Redwyne, daughter of Runceford Redwyne, Lord of the Arbor. Olenna is everything that her husband isn't. She is described as a wizened, cunning old woman with a wicked wit and a sharp tongue and has earned the nickname Queen of Thrones for having a sharp wit that she never holds back. A wit that Luthor was and still is subject to regularly and keeps him in line. Nevertheless Olenna and Luthor have had a long and successful marriage and together have brought three children into the world: Mace, Janna, and Mina. The power couple have also continued the tradition of the Reach being one of the most productive and richest kingdoms in all of Westeros, but those who know Luthor, know he never could have done it without Olenna. Little is known about Luthors fighting or strategic skills but he is known to be a dedicated hunter who never takes his eyes off the target. Currently with Roberts Rebellion just starting, Luthor and the Reach have declared to be Targaryen loyalists. Luthor too old for war, and quite frankly not skilled enough for it, has placed his son Mace in command along with his most trusted of loyal lords, Randyll Tarly.

    Rhaegar Targaryen
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The Silver Prince, The Last Dragon, Prince of Dragon Stone, heir to the Iron Throne, and suspected Prince that was promised, Azor Ahai. Rhaegar Targaryen is the pride of all of those loyal to the Iron Throne and his father Aerys Targaryen, second of his name and King of the Iron Throne. Born from the ashes of the tragedy of Summerhall in 259AL, Rhaegar as a child was awkward and quite, choosing to spend his days reading while showing little interest in leaning to fight or playing unless it was music with his harp. He was such a serious child that his father's court joked that he was Baelor the Blessed come again, but unlike Baelor, Rhaegar would one night change his fate after reading an unknown work that drew him at sunrise to the Red Keeps Master at Arms to ask for his first sword and declare "It seems I must be a warrior." After that Rhaegar trained endlessly becoming a skilled warrior who was Knighted by the age of 17 and has since become one of the most popular Knights in all of Westeros. Outside of his armor the awkward child grew into what Cersei Lannister admits is the most beautiful man she's ever seen. Along with his dashing looks accompany tremendous musical skills with his harp which bring women to tears. His wit and charm are unmatched and Maesters from all seven kingdoms are impressed by his wisdom and knowledge. Indeed he is regarded by most as Targaryen glory reborn, and by few to possibly be the Prince that was Promised, Azor Ahai. Rhaegar married Elia Martell who was the first born daughter of the Princess of Dorne. Elia is a good and gracious lady and said to be very beautiful, but she is also frail and sickly, a condition that has only since gotten worse over time with the birth of their daughter, Rhaenys and now the pregnancy of their second child which has left her bed ridden. The marriage has also had large political implications in Westeros as the former Hand of the King, Tywin Lannister, took the marriage as an insult and resigned his office and returned to his kingdom. Additionally Rhaegar himself while found of Elia, is rumored to not love Elia and instead is rumored to be in love with Lyanna Stark, the only daughter of Rickard Stark, Lord of Winterfell because he declared her to be Queen of Love and Beauty at the now legendary tournament at Harrenhal. Since that fable day, one year ago, Rhaegar has appeared to be infatuated with Lyanna and has since then reportedly kidnapped Lyanna from her family and is apparently holding her hostage. The result of these actions have been like a Dragon burning Harrenhal to Westeros. King Aerys has killed Lyanna's brother and father thinking he was saving Rhaegar and as a result Houses Stark, Tully, Arryn, and Baratheon have all rebelled and fractured the Seven Kingdoms in half. The Royal house Targaryen is facing extinction, and 300 years of status quo are endangered all because of Rhaegar's love and Aerys madness gone unchecked. Deploring his father's actions and the war in general, Rhaegar has initially opted to not fight and let his friends, like Jon Connington, the new Hand of the King, lead the war effort. Where Rhaegar is and what he is doing is unknown, but it is only a matter of time before he must fight.

I would suggest going over the descriptions again and checking spelling, use apostrophe's more so as to make the paragraphs flow better but other than that good content, detailed and, aside from the few mistakes and the stuttering, very good descriptions. I'm very pleased with it.
