Not limited to just drawing but also rendering.... 6H - for my detailed drawings. HB - Standard HB but also mechanical 'Clutch' pencil 6B If i feel like quick sketching and producing dark images. Great on cartridge paper. Technical Drawing Pens 0.1 -0.8 Graphic Markers - Only about 5 or 6 of them, all cool and warm greys. Mainly used for shading. Watercolour Pencils Those are my go-to tools of the trade.
I use a Zebra M-301 Mechanical pencil. For 3 Bucks you can get 12 years worth of pencil out of both of them.
Doublepost sorry
Hmm, personally i've always been slightly sceptical of those thin lead mechanicals. They always ended up making very deep, dark and thin lines in the paper. What sort of drawing do you do with it?
Usually just things like soldiers and stuff, they're not the best for shading but if you have practice with one you can do great things with a Zebra
Dont lose clutch pencils. A clutch pencil with a single 2mm lead will cost you about $20-25. I learned that the hard way!
