Why "Golanii din 2012"?

    Aurelius Silvanus Tacitus
For all those who don't speak Romanian, golani literally means punks or thugs.
In 1989 during the Revolution the communist dictator Nicolae Ceasescu categorized the revolutionaries as "golani" and the name stuck. The revolutionaries protested against communism and after the fall of Ceausecu's fall against the National Salvation Front (who was governing the country) that was made up by former leading members of the P.C.R (the Romanian Communist Party) and the people began to support the opposition parties. In January,February and June 1990 the president of Romania Ion Iliescu used the miners to crush any opposition or dissent and many protesters were beaten by miners supported by former members of the communist secret police (Securitatea).
I chose this name because like they protested against Ceausescu and P.C.R. we protest against the current president Traian Basescu (former member of the communist secret police), his ruling party, the Liberal-Democrats.
