There are lots of ways of doing AARs, all equally valid. The important thing is that you make a conscious decision about what your concept actually is, and then execute it as well as you can.
True, though this is my first AAR. So I do need to find my own style still.
Morinzil, namely why people like for the pictures to be cropped to the same size is so that you have a sence of consistancy in the aar, not that important though, and you should do it your own way. BTW, Lakinis Juice is back from the crypt, with an annoying skeleton dude narrating
And i thought my timeouts were long.
lets say that was the halftime show, and now were on the 2nd half.

I've never bothered with that and not one person has complained in any of my AARs once. As for the update thing, takes me anytime from 30 minutes to several hours to play it out (depending if its one battle or ten turns), then anything around an hour to write it up.
so noone other than me decided to throw out the playing the game part and just make up your updates the way you want them to go for your story? i only did that because most of my saves ive lost and i can't repeat them perfectly, so its better off that i design a better plot and write toward that rather than what happens in game.
so noone other than me decided to throw out the playing the game part and just make up your updates the way you want them to go for your story? I take it you are not familiar with my AAR? I still do play, but approximately 95 % of what I write only happens in my head and what I do in the game follows a plot-line that I made up before, rather than writing about what happens to me, although the door to surprises that the AI has for me is still open. But one thing is clear: In that campaign I neither win nor lose a war if I don't want to do that I guess I could continue without playing at all, but after all, I love the game and game events remain an invaluable anchor for a story that spans over decades (for which my AAR is designed). Edit: Ah, after rethinking I have to say the 95 % are exaggerated. An important source for me are the detailed character traits that the family members have and those come with EB, so I just lied
At the moment my AAR follows the events in my campaign to about 90% of the times. There are occasions I make things up for the sake of the story, but most is still all based on my game. I can imagine though that along the way the AAR deviates more from the actual campaign, especially because of events you're not happy with. or losing save games, for that matter.
ok, my first actual update to Lakinis Juice is here. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=181620 100% made up by me
Eat this: Text vs Pictures is really Apples vs Oranges. (See POTW/TOTW) Especially for a 70%-visual-input creature. To argue about, that's just bananas. An(y) AAR will go as far as the author takes it. Who doesn't want to order a fruit salad?
Damn! Everytime I clicked 'send reply' in my AAR Opera crashed...... How many times must I experience this?
@LlamaD, I'll take one salad. Hm, anyone any idea why some pictures won't show up in my AAR? I uploaded and posted them exact the same way as all other pics. In Firefox all seems to be fine, but two picture won't show up in IE. Even when I make a link to the picture, it won't work right away. When I press reload, it does though. This only seems to be happening in IE, haven't tried with browsers as Opera and Chrome.
IE isn't the best browser one can find... That's all I can say.
I use Firefox and it happened to me, too.
Dang... I always find it frustrating when they do not work as intended. Oh well, I'll find a solution at some point For now I posted a link to my entire galery.
Morin, you should try and use Tinypic.com to upload pictures or Imageshack, I find those 2 to be the top sites in the matter.
Well the thing is, I am sometimes a bit lazy, with Picasa you get a nice program with which you can upload really quick an' easy :'). I'll give it a shot though.
Is photobucket neglected man?
