Danzig, what do you think of Jon Romita Jr's art? I dont really care for it.

Yeah Wilson, I saw the new Wolverine trailer. I'm so pumped for the movie. I liked every second of it (except when Wolverine was on the helicopter.. just didnt feel right)

    This movies gonna own. HARD.

Ive always liked his art, always alot going in with his work and I like "busy" art Finished reading up Xmen Legacy #215 earlier and that is more like it as far as the Xmen go...hope they dont wimp out on the Summers/Xavier thing. Cyclops needs to STAY mad after everything X has done.

Meh, I can't say I particulalry care for Romita's art. It's not bad, but it seems to blocky for me.

Yea, I like how Magneto and High Evolutionary are working together. H.E. is a cool, underused character with lots of potential.

Yea, Gambit, that helicopter scene seemed a bit off. I'm sure the inclusion of Remy LeBeau turned you away as well, lol. Blob looked pretty cool too

Well Magneto/HE stuff is in Uncanny and I really hate that storyline because it doesnt feel like the X-men and Magento just seems completely out of character. I mean wth domantrix Madelyne Pryor?! Legacy is much better but yeah the Remy stuff in Legacy was kinda of lame but the Rogue stuff is MUCH better especially in latest issue.

Hah DMW you see the preview for upcoming Deadpool book with the Skrulls? Priceless! posting the 2 pages in album. The peace sign in the costume is fantastic.

Yea, recognized it right away. Deadpool is a real class act. One of my all-time faves.

So, waht do you guys think of recent comic events? Are there too many? Have the ones that have been coming out been quality work?

    Here's a few I have in mind:

    Sinestro Wars
    Civil War,
    World War Hulk
    Final Crisis
    Secret Invasion

    etc...

They are fun if they are actually done right...CW and WWH were two of the best. Secret invasions and Final Crisis not so much. House of M was great but dragged out too much.

Well Marvel did a little write up on Dark Reign...what comes after Secret Invasion but no hints as to what is going to be the setting though it sounds bleak. Obvious guesses are skrulls win and rule earth but what if its superheros who decide they need complete control to protect people? Could we be seeing dictator Tony Stark? Millar is writing it so you know its going to be heavy on politics and he has this thing that fascism is slowly taking over the US (just look at his Ultimates storylines which regardless were still fantastic). Other then Skrulls or people like Stark taking over any other possibilities? Guess it could be humans decide to hell with everyone superhero, alien etc and seek to drive them all away..would make an interesting story as heros have to prove they arent more of a threat to humankind then they are a benefit. Last few years Stark, Richards etc has brought near destruction to the planet repeatly. Guess that doesnt fit though since humans would be justified in doing so and hardly a "dark reign". Any other ideas?!

Yea, I read about it as well. Glad to see Millar on it. I tend to dig his work. Honestly though, I haven't seen enough to even dare to try to give a theory as to how it may play out. I seriously doubt a Skrull win at the end of the invasion (is Hercules' God Squad killing their gods and Skrull Pym saying the invasion was doomed from the start). Interesting concept though, looking forward to hearing more.

btw, read SI #6 yet? I liked it a lot, but more of the same. I guess at least the Avengers are out of the Savage land. Also, a bunch of the art panel sequences drop pn you out of nowhere. But overall sweet. The 2 splash pages at the end almost justify a purchase just for the nice art. And this is coming from a guy who isn't the biggest fan of Leinel Yu's work.

Yeah read it but that Pym could be wrong since he was really torn between his human memories and his own...I mean the Skrulls go there to outright confront the heros and the Queen is acting like things are going as planned. The Janet thing sounds bad, very bad for her....Im assuming Skrull Pym did something to her with that new serum that is going to do something major. Coolest thing was of course Fury "My god has a hammer". Dunno Im really starting to believe somehow the Skrulls ARE going to win this in some way.

Speaking od the invasion, that's where War of kings comes in. With the Skrull forces in dissaray and the Kree still picking up the pieces (the Supreme Intelligence got a friggin lobatomy!), it seems Vucan of the Shiar will be agressively expandind his empire. Although, Vulcan is a bit one-dimensional, the Shiar are my favorite Marvel alien race. You know you find them a bore danzig, but i think they are among Chris Claremont's neatest creations. Hail the Imperium!

Yea, losses are inevitable for humanity in any case, and I would like to a step away from the good 'ole 'heroes always win' kind of thing. I would like them to break that status quo, but I doubt it. Yea, that Wasp comment was pretty ominus. Danzig, do you own all the New/Mighty Avengers tie-ins? They might clue us in.

Also, I read that new Deadpool book. Friggin hilarious.

Yeah DP was good not as good as I though it would be though. The suit thing was hilarious as was the ending REPORTING FOR DUTY. Wonder what insanity he is going to try and play off on that....and yeah read all the avengers book part of the reason I mentioned it after Pym's comment is "janet with them" and the "we won then" comment. Gonna suck if Bendis kills her off but I really think he is going to and its going to end up winning the war for the Skrulls...a forced Wasp IED basically heh. Thing is if the Skrulls dont win atleast in some matter the entire series is a waste because for the most part the Skrulls have spent 6 issues getting their asses handed to them...so I think there is one huge card left to play.

I'm sure theres at least another load of revelations to come in the next 2 issues. btw, did you notice the Galactus-Skrull?

Excited about any post-Invasion stuff? Besides Dark Reign. I'm interested in the Evil Illuminati (or the Illuminaughty as Bendis says). From what I've been reading Namor and Doom have been in cahoots for sometime. Not to mention Loki's brief 'we are agreed' dialogue in JMS' Thor series. The last pic I posted of Doom with the Infinity Gauntlet may tie into that. Though, that will probably play out similar to Doom obtaining Thor's hammer. But then again, the gauntlet doesen't have prerequisites to those who wear it.

Hmm yeah hell who knows maybe dark reign means that....a world more influenced by likes of doom, loki etc its not like the good guys have brought peace and security to marvel universe. Course if Doom has gauntlet that means Namor would have had to outright betray since he knew about the gems.

I may have mentioned it in an earlier post, but i'm a huge Daredevil fan (so its not surprising that the movie was like an hour and a half listening to the scratching of a chalk board to me) and the recent story run I felt was just perfect and should have been what any movie was about. Daredevil is a about a man, with minimal powers, protecting his turf and fighting against the odds in both his real life and his superman persona. He is a broken man in some ways that uses the costume to vent all his kempt up emotions, and it serves as both a blessing and a curse to his life. This recent run really highlighted what Murdock is about and what Daredevil stands for. It wasa real pleasure to read. And I love Lark and guadiano's style. It really fits the title.
