Place to talk about the most brutal sub-genre of metal.
Opeth. End discussion.
Opeth are progressive metal.
lol I say anyone gonna see some death metal bands this summer?
Boy I wish, but there are non im currently interested in. I would love to see Moonspell back in Seattle.
Cannibal Corpse!!!
Reginald, you can not categorize Opeth as simply progressive. They exhibit all of the trademarks of death metal; ergo, they are death metal. Their early stuff was black, then death, and now they are getting more and more prog (to my dismay). You cannot listen to My Arms, Your Hearse and tell me it isn't death metal.
B5C come to Portugal and I'll introduce you to their vocalist, Fernando Ribeiro. He usually spends his time in a street full of bars called Bairro Alto in Lisbon
I am going to the Metalfest in my country...bunch of Maltese Death Metal(like Arachnid...and hopefully Beheaded(which are the best maltese band...they played with Dew Scented) and Greek Black Metal(usually)) It usually happens in September though
meshuggah is brutal and wicked rythmn, imo king of the death metal.. and whatnot, unearth, all that remains are great as well and opeth.. well it is just (opeth<----- (amazing)
i wouldnt call meshuggah exactly death metal...
neither are opeth
although, maybe progressive death metal
they are prgressive death yea
Been listening to these boys lately, they are wicked awesome
Damn they sound like Behemoth style
kinda, tell ye why both bands are polish both are blackened death difference is hate uses a bit more ambience than behemoth and hate started out has death while behemoth started out as black
Thats what i meant! Blackened death! I couldn't remember at the time, thanks.
For me one of the most underrated death metal bands they have an awesome sound with a really ed up atmosphere able to send chills down your spine Septic Flesh
Meshuggah is post-thrash. As for death metal, I have seen death metal bands live. Always sub-genre stuff though. Insomnium, Belphegor and the like. I will be seeing Hypocrisy on November 30th though. To add to the list. I do listen to Death, Atheist, Deicide, Blood Red Throne, etc as well. Generally a decent sub-genre. I do prefer thrash and black metal though.
