    Demonstrations in Urosevac (Uroshevats) began on the afternoon of March 17. At first they were peaceful but soon the Albanian crowd was using hand grenades and Molotov cocktails to attack the Greek troops guarding the church of the Holy Emperor Uros (Urosh). Approximately 15 Greek soldiers were wounded defending the church, which luckily only sustained damage to the facade. At the last moment US troops arrived, who prevented the mass from breaking into the church, evacuated the wounded Greeks and about a dozen Serbs under a hail of stones and Molotov cocktails. The violence continued in Gnjilane, Vitina and Kamenica as well. In Gnjilane almost all the remaining Serbian houses were burned down but ultimately the church was saved. The Serbian churches in Vitina and Kamenica were attacked but did not sustain significant damage. All the Serbs from Gnjilane were evacuated; in Vitina only a few stayed near the church, which was placed under US protection. In Kamenica many Serbian houses were damaged, and several Serbs beaten up

    Sad reality of the so called state of Kosovo, if you're non-Albanian, you better don't show. Our thanks to brave Greek troops, if only other '' peacemakers '' at Kosovo were commited as they were, there wouldn't be 20 killed Serbs and hundreds of churchs and houses burned in march 2004

    The legal basis of Serbo-Greek cooperation during the First World War was the defensive alliance treaty and a military convention, signed in June 1913 prior to the Second Balkan War. The military convention providing the military assistance that was fully applied during the second Balkan War, became a source of misinterpretation and misunderstandings during the first two years of the Great War. In Pro-German Greek governments, it was the defensive alliance in case of Bulgarian attack only, but not in case of the attack coming from the third side (Austria-Hungary). Differing views, motivated by different priorities in potential participation of the Greece in the Great War, and disagreements on the interpretations of Greek-Serbian treaty of alliance of 1913, were not the obstacle for the Allies-organized transfer of defeated Serbian troops to Corfu in early 1916. The axis of the Greek-Serbian cooperation was, in the following years, based on mutual understanding between the two Premiers N. Pasic and E. Venizelos. Confident to eventual Allied victory, they were both fully committed to the Serbian-Greek strategic partnership as a main precondition to the long-term Balkan stability. Despite a number of internal and external pressures, Pasic and Venizelos have managed to overcome all the obstacles that were on the way of the mutually valuable Greek-Serbian political and military cooperation, especially on the Salonica (Macedonian) Front.

    That is an excellent idea, I am willing to support it 110%. The only problem for me is that I am not in Serbia now and its kind of a big distance to contribute anything physically. But I am willing to do it any other way, and all the text which should look something like AAR together with the pics should be posted in Vestigia Vestutatis or and Academy. I think that you posted pics previously in this group and it looked so good. Look, the idea is brilliant and we should definitely do something about it. And I looked at the conversation that you have in your user profile with those two guys, I think that is infamous saneel that everybody is complaining about .

    @IEROS LOXOS
    Welcome brother and feel in here like you are at home. We appreciate your support. And info you quoted, was that from what happened in Urosevac in march of 2004, during the pogroms that were conducted by Albanian thugs and criminals.

    regarding my earlier suggestion:

    It's always the question of time and money - unfortunately, neither the state or any other public service in Serbia is willing to help organize the armies (numbers wise) of young people who are willing to contribute as to peacefully commit themselves in affirmative action - on the spot - in Kosmet....
    I don't want to steer up an internal political debate again, but the situation has worsened since the new gov. was "elected" - although it is fair to say that it was not much better during the previous gov. either...

    So, we're reduced to individual action - or action in smaller groups at best - the up side of that is the fact that smaller groups are easier to coordinate and can be as effective, provided that the goals are set clearly and realistically and that the plans are executed strictly ....

    If there are more of you who like this idea, we can discuss it further and try to simplify it. For example - a two day trip, with extremely dense schedule though, should also be enough time to visit most of the hot-spots and create enough material (but not enough time to post it interactively as we go though) and it would slice up the expenses in two. For example:
    The two-way bus ticket (1+1; no return ticket available)
    to K.Mitrovica is around 25euro (half that price for faculty students!) - the two way ticket from there to, let's say Gračanica enclave is 10-15 euro or even less, depending on the driver and your bargaining skills ... food in the enclaves is much cheeper than elsewhere in Serbia, you need two stronger meals per day x2 - that's about 15euro; add another 10e for adittional expences (small donations to the Monasteries and candles and such...) - that rounds it up at about 50е оr even 38е if you're a student (off course, it's always wise to bring some reserve cash just in case...)

    Anyway, I definitely plan to travel to Kosovo within the next few months and to make more photo and video material....
    I too am in chaos with both time and money so I don't know for sure about the exact date - but even if no one else can join me by then, we could set up a thread in advance and the thread can serve for posting actuall photo-video material nit just for me but for any one of us who would eventually travel there solo.... of course, that too would require good timing so that the thread would be updated in regular intervals....

    anyway, it's just an idea for now, when I know more about my actual plans - I'll inform you (but we should definitely exchange e-mails via PM in due time - and then switch to other means of communication from there - "just in case" some "loonatic" is following this discussions and getting some wild ideas )
