Well the main thing this days will be Serbia's lawsuit at UN's court that will question legal aspect of Kosovo's '' independence ''.
Not many people think that lawsuit at UN will yield much if it was not backed up by resolution. Its still impossible to do anything concrete because of the American duplicity and hypocrisy. But, the good thing is that their power is descending.
Well if the court rules in our favour our argument will be much stronger and it will have other role, for example in prevailing admission of Kosovo in some international organizations. Without admission of Kosovo in UN and without recognition by Serbia Kosovo will never have legal independence and the question will remain open 'till better days.
Honestly, I was digusted with some countries when they started recognizing Kosovo. They should be ashamed of themselves. And you are right Clandestino, without the admission in the UN, Kosovo will be pariah state and issue will definitely be open in the years to come. Which is good, when the time comes we will be ready to liberate it.
I was even more disgusted when I saw those same countries screaming Osetia and Abkhazia don't have right for independence ( which they don't ) and that Russia is breaking international laws. Well guess what USA, Germany and France, you started the whole mess when you created that mafia ''state'' of Kosovo and you will have to drink your own medicine. They made both Serbia and Georgia victims of their injustice...
Russia would never make S.Ossetia and Abkhazia independant, if Kosovo wasnt.
No to make S.Ossetia independant is in Rus interests while to make Kosovo wasn't.
Yes, but Russia wouldnt support SOssetias independance, if they didnt have a precedans from EU. They would help SOssetia crush Georgia, but they wouldnt support their independance.
unfortunately kosovo is just one of the balkan problems. i'm most pissed off about the whole story of this presunt independence. everything could have been made better if things were did better. i mean, look a montenegro/Crna Gora. there was no mess there: they made a referendum, posed the question under international law, separed themselves, joined UN, and still held good relations. kosovo is not "a balkan problem because balkans are such a mess".
Monte Negro separated after the Yugoslavians were crushed; and besides it was part of the dominant coalition of the orthodox states,so it did what it wanted and the serbs couldn't mess that much with it.
Montenegro is entirely different case, the current government did referendum because of their economic aspirations. They wanted to have complete monopoly (criminal monopoly) on everything in Montenegro like they do now, and it is proven fact that referendum of 2006 passed only because of the massive Albanian and Muslim voting for yes bloc. Municipalities like Ulcinj, Plav, Rozaje, Gusinje, won the referendum for Milo Djukanovic. And they have 95-99% Albanian and Muslim population majority. Furthermore, when you look at the overall results, the yes option prevailed thanks to 34.576 more votes then no option. And those 34.576 votes came directly from those municipalities that I mentioned above and from Albanian and Muslim migrants that came back from Europe and America in order to vote for yes option.
God,what was the option "yes" in the referendum for ? I never heard of a referendum.
Option yes was for Montenegro to secede from the union with Serbia, option no was for Montenegro to stay in the union with Serbia. You can figure out easily why Albanians and Muslims wanted Montenegro to secede from the union.
well I lived in Montenegro for 4 years and I had friends on both sides of the argument. The ones that really wanted to stay and the ones that really wanted to separate but what frustrates me is that they shipped in all these Albanians just to let them vote but they wouldn't let my aunt vote even tho she has been living in Monte ever since the war in 1991. and they still wont allow them their citizenship.
They didn't let Montenegrins with double Montenegrin-Serbian citizenship to vote also, which is like ultimate nonsense, for example all Croatians from Bosnia who have double Bosnian-Crotian citizenship can vote in Croatia and I believe that's custom in all countries in the world. Not to mention that there was huge pressure and bribery involved in whole referendum proces, there even was that video where representatives of goverment try to bribe some guy to vote for independence by promising that they will pay his electricity bills...
So democracy is a crap or worked like crap in there.
Something like that, yes. Here is very informative article:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Montene...6#cite_note-10 As we see Montenegrin goverment didn't alow 200,000 Montenegrin citizens from Serbia to vote at referendum thus denying them their civil and political rights, but that's unrelated with this topic.
I'm proud to be a new member of this group. Especially, for it's Kosmet's views. Pozdrav svima!
Welcome!
I really dont know why do you guys still want Yugoslavia, or Serbia and Montenegro or some other hybrid countries. There wasnt any good from any Yugoslavia, things were just worse. I would rather have Serbia, than some Serbia and Montenegro country, ( Union like UK would be ok, but nobody wants it ).
