It is obvious Pinkie Pie has mental issues. I suspect she might have schizophrenia. This is most clear in "Party of One" when she becomes extremely paranoid and deluded. And in another episode, she stalks Twilight, making sure she doesn't tell secrets. Or she might have bipolar disorder, the show hasn't been running for that long, perhaps she is currently in her manic phase. Her hyperactive, euphoric behavior certainly fits. Could she be dangerous to the other ponies?
You should not have read the fanfic "Cupcakes"...
Yes, shes mad, it help little kids understand the disadvantaged in life... WHAT am I saying? No kids watch this!
Yes and YES!
You should not have read the fanfic "Cupcakes"... I wish I hadn't. I used to think she was just goofy. Now I can't help but think there is something horribly, horribly wrong with her. Warning: Disturbing. So very disturbing images.
I've seen enough. End This. I found this funny... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aE0q...layer_embedded

Silence of the Fillies
Pinkie Pie is my favorite character just because of her anitics
Is Pinkie Pie,mentally disabled or troubled? Does it matter? I actually think it might be nice, for her to be. A way to sort of combat the stigma of mental illness. I myself suffer A.D.D (Attention Deficit Disorder),so doing so could send a good message to kids. It might draw negative feedback,I know people who don't like the show, because it promotes homosexuality(Rainbow Dash),Paganism(Celestia and Luna),and feminism(Obviously). Why are people so closeminded?
The symptoms sort of seem like paranoid scyzophrenia to me. First to fear of loss, the irrational blaming, the quick conclusions, general paranoia, then the voices, associating them with objects, and their more and more hostile suggestions and comments...
Who gives a damn, she's awesome!
Completely agree with Roseluck. Insane characters are always awesome.
I agree that she's awesome, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't look at the character!
I highly doubt so. Pinkie Pie just enjoys having fun. Fun is her thing and she is willing to give people the benefit of the doubt in her eccentricity so ponies can laugh.
that is true, but one must remember "Party of One". I agree that, for the most part, she's just a little eccentric, though.
When does eccentricity become insanity(or at least disability)?
well, for the most part, she doesn't cause any harm, and she seems to actually benefit from her eccentricity, although I still think she has SOMETHING after Party of One; most people don't start hearing voices that quickly, and it's pretty clear that something is wrong there.
That seems more like age regression. She treated the objects like imaginary friends, which kids usually give up by age 10. I had an imaginary friend once to,so I technically talked to myself. I was bad at it though. I called him "Imaginary Friend". It took me four years to eventually call him Dan. Four years!
Regression is still a form of insanity, but, beyond that, it didn't quite strike me like that. She wasn't just treating them friends, but actually hearing voices and getting to the point where she stopped recognizing her own actions when associated with these "friends", which suggests hallucination. It's all a matter of interpretation, though.
