What it says on the tin.
2000 years of amazing history, so why has nobody ever made a film or TV series about the ERE?
I honestly believe the answer to this, is what propelled this group into being. If Hollywood only knew how money the fall of Constantinople would be, don't you think they would try to exploit it for better or for worse? How about the reign of Heraclius and how he saved the Empire from self destruction some 1000 years before the fall? one of the most underrated Emperors in my view, general history barely gives him a passing reference let alone his story which is often times just skipped right over, never mind the Sassanids... as if there was only ancient Persia then bam Islam... (hey it's only 600 years right? no one will notice) There's plenty of Constantine the Great documentaries that could have been better as full fledged movies as well, but these of course are the most well known among those interest in the history, certainly not the only stories. Alexiad anyone?
the Alexiad in live, it would be great. but who to do that? Scorcese or Scott? Personnaly, I'm shocked when Hoolywood take his money with the History. Remember Braveheart, the Patriot...less mentions of all the crappy pseudo-historical opus as 300, gladiator, attila and such.
I'd almost rather not see a movie until someone comes along that will stay true to history and not bury it further with a fantasized plot.
Her family would make a great movie or series. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eudokia...f_Heraclius%29

what's this?
just a fantasy adventure taking place in Constantinople during the 4th crusade & take a look at at the pantheon, Corinthian helmets and lorica segmintata that's what you get when you use the word byzantine or Greco-Roman or when you try to get the advice from marketing experts who never read real history books - lol
real Romans at last !
I would like to see a siege of Constantinople, which great siege would you like to see?
they use the word Byzantine too often for me They might as well call it the Lollipop Empire.
Yeah they better not use Byzantine, in any future film that may come out...
