I agree, I am very happy to be a citizen of the United States.

And I guess I will begin the discussion...

Barack Obama would be the absolute worst thing that could ever happen to this nation. If he become is elected President, this nation will become a shadow of its former self.

I agree, better to have John McCain fill the role of President rather than him. Don't even get me started on Hillary, even though she's not running anymore.

I dont think Obama would be the worst thing to happen. I prefer Mccain and I plan on voting him but I think as a country we need Obama this time around...if only to provide contrast with no one can deny has been 8 pretty bad years. Combine 8 years before that of Clinton scandal and we've had 16 years where the guy in the White House has been nothing but embarrassing. Mccain wouldnt be embarrasing that is for sure but I just think he missed his shot, we might be as a county beyond what Mccain can do for it. Face facts the world is changing, we've gotten ourselves in a rut where we spend more time arguing about god in schools, stem cell research, gay marriage and other pointless issues. We need a spark, JFK might have been a horrible president but he provided that spark..think we need it again. ok rant mode off and hi!

Danzig... sorry to call you out.... but it is your line of thinking that makes me fear Obama. From the very begening all the Obama supporters have been swooning over this guy, and spounting "Change" He can change things, he's about change!. What does that mean exactly. (Now I will agree with you that politics has become trivilized in many places....) But Obama isnt going to CHANGE that... (see what I did there) Im sorry to tell you but Obama is basically a socialist (and I know Im not allowed to say that...becuase I'll be called a racist for critiqueing the man) but he is. Obama has never once given any concrete examples or even paper-mache examples of what this change will be...except for get out of Iraq ...which has been his "gabriel's horn" to the far left since day one.

Obama is a trypical politican... he is the master of saying nothing.... he's a good speaking when speaking someone elses words. But lets face it...this guy was hand picked four years ago and groomed to be president. Everyone calls him the next Kennedy... He's not even close to what Kennedy was...and Im no fan of Kennedy. Obama is going to overextend this country's social services which are already too high, he wont be strong on immigration. and his other domestic policies are even scarier.

I will say this though....I DONT like McCain at all...didnt vote for him in the primaries.... and I dont want him to be president either,,,but McCain is by far the lesser of two evils.

Yes Obama most likely is just a typical politican, no denying that...at the end of the day JFK was a piss poor politician but he still was able to provide that spark. Reagan did the same thing (except he was a good president imo)...he helped shake the US out of its rut thanks to Nixon/Carter. Sometimes its necessary imo to have someone who serves that purpose, Obama I think can do that. Ill vote for Mccain (Im a NYer so 99% of the time my vote is wasted) but Im not going to be upset if Obama wins even if all I do for the next 4 years is complain about him. Bush has done such damage to GOP that we might need Obama to force the GOP to fix itself.

I'm an American Studies / History student at the University of Amsterdam, so naturally I had to join this group! (My primary area of interest is Civil War and Reconstruction Era).. Actually, a month ago I paid a visit to Atlanta, Georgia with a few other students and got a chance to do a presentation about George Barnard, a photographer with Sherman's army who managed to capture a lot of scenes of Atlanta before its destruction. Oh, and you can definitely count me in for another visit!

Actually Britney and Paris make a lot more sense than Obama does.
