شب يلدا مبارك
Merry x-mas to all !
saw the Taj Mahal last week and loved it I must post one of my pics of it when I get back
Why one pic? post more. lol. I love India. Have fun!
lol ok anyway at the moment I am in Lucknow which according to wikipedia has as one of its nicknames "Shiraz-i-Hind".Since it used to be a center of Iranian culture during the 18th and 19th Century.
Btw Merry Christmas to all, though it's not the persians new year eid, the Nowrouz.
@ R- Teen, you freak have conquered half of the EB World with Parthia @Chaghatai, send us some pics of Taj Mahal, I wish that I can one day be there as well, and btw HAPPY NEW YEAR!
cool thanks btw though I just read that the first Nawab here in Lucknow during the 18th Century was from Nishapur
@Cyrus Kabir, Thanks a lot. I suggest others send pics from their empires too. @Chaghati Khan, lol, we have the same word in farsi "Nawab-نواب" too. Didn't knew Indians say nawab too.
anyway I came back yesterday from India
I have just a campaign with the Bactrians on VH. I conquered Bactria, Sogdia, Arachosia, Parthia, Media, Scythia and Persis!
Well the old Iranian names (and I mean from Achaemenid times) for those regions were Bakhtrish,Suguda,Harauvatish,Parthava,Mada,Saka and Parsa.
lol EB VH is so difficult with eastern factions. nice.
Yeah it was quite hard. The Sakas attacked me the whole time without any break. I had luck that the Parthians and Seleucids don't like each other so I could expand to north and east without declaring war against the two gigants. After preparing an invasion army I attacked the Seleucids succesfully and had no problems to attack the horse armies of the Parthians, who were in war with the Ptolemaios, with my mass armies of disciplined heterogenes Phalanx and Hellen Spearmen.
I added a new pic from Tehran. I really want to visit lol
Hello everyone, it's good to be in this group. How many true Persians here??
R-Teen,Khusrau II Parviz,Cyrus Kabir, cyrusempire, shapurthefirst, dashsia. Well,I have Iranian ancestry and my culture shares a lot with Iran.My grandparents know Farsi as well.My best friend is Iranian and I have celebrated Nowruz a few times with him. What about you Noble Lord?
Oh a new member Just for fun in this group or do you have persian ancestry?
@Chaghatai Khan No, I don't have Persian ancestry or origins but I have been affiliated with Persian history and culture for very long time. As amateur historian my areas of expertise have always been the Persian (Iranian and Afghan) history, military history, culture, literature, customs, etc. I was always deeply involved with all things Persian, and I have quite a few friends who are Persian, both Iranian and Afghan. @Cyrus Kabir I am in this group because it's the group about something that's very close to me, and your title should say: "Let remind us to the age when Persia (Greater Iran) was world's first superpower". And to answer your question about my ancestry, I am Montenegrin Serb.
Then we welcome you again
