Well, I don't like music. But Dariush is a good singer. And his songs are quite thoughtful... sometimes revolutionary. He was also in prison in Pahlavi period for political reasons.

after all, I don't like his voice! Too saaaaaaaaad!

Oh he's a GREAT singer! his musics are very meaningful. It's a shame that our best singers can't sing (or even live) in Iran Most of them are in LA. Btw, does anyone have seen "House of Fog and Sand" movie?

He is in bollywood too haha isn't he? I wonder how he's a well-known singer, probably the most known Iranian singer in outside of Iran. Yep he's a nice singer. He can sing both Iranian and Indian plus with Russian lol.
What about Indian artists? I like Shahrukh Khan.

I think so with that girl, Aneela?.And it aint "Indian" it's Urdu or Hindi .

Shahrukh Khan doesn't sing his own songs, he merely mimes them , my dad is really good friends with him so I know. The artist who does the singing lately is Sukhwinder Singh who sung the oscar winning song "Jai Ho".

I didn't mean are films allowed in Iran

I meant are Bollywood films allowed?

The thing is in India our censors are very strict so I doubt it would be offensive in Iran.

Did anyone see the film "Persepolis?"
  15. R-teen
    R-teen
Yep, the most films that are being showed here after Persian ones, are the Bollywood movies.
No I haven't seen it. You mean that animation movie right?

The movie that I said "House of Sand and Fog" is awesome, it's about an Iranian family whom move to USA after the revolution it Iran. Ben Kingsley plays as the father of that family who was a general in shah's regime and Shohre Aghdashloo شهره آغداشلو as his wife (such a beautiful voice she has). It's so fun to hear some Persian dialogues in a Hollywood movie.

Yeah, Bollywood is popular in Iran? But I really don't like it! Always Ending well with finding out that the two men were brothers or something like this!

I have seen some scenes of Perspolis. It's really interesting and correct. I plan to take the full movie from my cousin.

I think it is yet more proof of our strong historical links

Persian literature is awesome but the thing is there is a minority which I can't post since it would conflict with ToS (it is that explicit lol).
