    i realized that i had posted an older version of the settlement/region list here at TWC.
    the list is of may 8th, it does not contain the additions/changes made during June, it will be re-constructed and updated.
    changes that has been made is the addition of a new major province 26 between 14 and 21. that and the addition of 15-20 micro province. i also intended to remove provinces 1 and 8, not sure if i have gotten that far.

    Absinthia had the idea of micro regions, i think it is a brilliant idea. Definatly something new for a total war mod. And i think we have just the right mix of ideas to make it work in a very interesting way. So it should be quite interesting.

    I really love this idea and would love to use it for Road To Jerusalem. If there is a chance that I could use this please let me know. I would give credit of course. If not I completly understand and no worries I will keep it quiet as I have not shared the idea with noone.

    I personally am all for letting anyone use any idea that comes from this mod... But not until after we release the mod... Just because it would take away anything special that the mod offers, and thats a rather special part and quite unique aspect of the mod... With that said, it is Absinthia's idea, so maybe he would be better to give his opinion on it...

    In regards to the mod's process, im tied up in real life matters so havent been able to work on anything... my current step is to get a basic EDB up and running withh all the new building and event action buildings.

    the truth is that RusichiTW have also small regions. these small regions are villages, belongs to castles (as major regions) and build farms and any economy for castle because castles can not build farms. these villages can not be upgraded to higher level, can not build walls - so they are easy target for plundering and broke enemy´s aconomy (as in real life - villages feed castles).

    I know you do not want to have too much regions, but something like this (with yours minor regions as castles) could looks great.

    Are you suggesting some of the minor regions be villages whilst others are castles?

    I dont know anything about RusichiTW as ive only ventured into and scripted for Stainless Steel, Deus Lo Vult and Third Age. Our idea for minor regions will not restrict the minor regions to major regions borders, but within the borders (the major region encircling the entire minor region). The minor regions role will mainly be in aiding in defending the major region, ensuring that the major regions full assets are used (trade etc). But it will be upto the player and AI as to how those minor regions are developed.

    Certain regions will be pre set up one way or the other. More so for game play then historical accuracy. But if its possible to unite the 2 then that's great.

    I do however like your suggestion regarding villages which have no walls and are open targets for plundering. It may very well be worth adding a few minor regions specifically for this intent. That is an idea i really like and it wont matter how many we add as i can leave them out of scripts concerning settlements.

    I´m glad that you like this idea. I will try to explain it better (despite my bad English).

    when I look at absinthia´s map some minor regions lies on the borders of major regions. this is on you how it must be - you know how economy and others things works...

    there will be three types of regions and settlements:

    1, Main region (yours major) with City. (city can build farms so no Minor region with village is needed, but for better accuracy maybe inside of Main region could be any Minor region (with village)).
    2, Major region (yours minor) with Castle. (castle can not build farms so inside Major region must be on/two (depends on "size" of Castle) Minor regions (with villages)).
    3, Minor region with Village. (village can not be upgrade to higher level, can not buil walls, can build farms (all levels), inn (maybe after trading station and second/third level of farms is builded - maybe here could be any peasants hireable), trading station, chapel)

    ofcourse village will needs population growth penalty and some codding. I assume that economic earning from Minor region "belongs" to Major/Main region.

    this village system is interestin also bacause player can not wait behind walls in City or Castle but must secure its land, Villages and peoples...

    I like your idea for the village micro region. Seperating village and castle into 2 seperate micro regions.

    Currently we were planning that you must control the major region and atleast 1 of the micro regions to enable any trade for the major region.

    hm, this is nice and complex idea. what about this, is this possible and close to your idea?:

    at the first I rename regions to Major (City), Minor (Castle), Micro (Village).

    1, the Village (Micro region) without Castle (Minor region) brings no money.

    2, the Castle (Minor region) could do a little (realy little) money.

    3, when player control 1 of the Villages (Micro region inside Minor region) he could gain all possibilities of Castle´s (Minor region) economy.

    4, the City (Major region) could do more money.

    5, when player control 1 of the Castles (Minor region inside Major region) he can gain more possibilities of City´s (Major region) economy.

    6, when player control City (Major region), 1 of the Castles (Minor region inside Majo region) and 1 of the Villages (Micro region inside Minor region) he can gain all possibilities of economy.

    too complicated? hard for codding?

    What you suggest is possible. It depends how many settlements we end up with as to how long the script is. And then it will depend on how the script runs. It is something i will have to test once we have a beta.

    I really don't know how much if any turn lag will be created by such a script. The script would be duplicated for each Major region (the Minor and Micro regions being apart of each script)... It may even have to be duplicated for each faction for each region... (8 by 40 = duplicated 200 times)...

    Honestly, it is a script i have not yet written, but i know it is possible and only possible with limited regions. So it is something ill need to test when we have a beta. It will take a while to write.

    I plan to have a script which does just that running anyway, adding in the whole village element should not make it any longer really...
