Gah...PowerWizard...I own the 1977 Camaro Rally Sport Type LT. It is Firethorn Red and High Gloss Black with a black Z/28 interior. It has a 350 small block V8 punched out to 355 CID with an Edelbrock aluminum intake and a 600 CFM Holley 4 barrel carburetor. We removed the smog pumps and replaced the exhaust manifold with 3.5 inch collector headers and ran 2.5 inch stainless steel aluminum exhaust pipes into a DynoMax turbo muffler. Each pipe is a simple straight pipe with the muffler. We did not add catalytic converters because they cost money and sap power. The car also is equipped with a Borg-Warner Super T-10 4 speed transmission linked up to a 2.83 posi-traction rear differential. It still needs some work down to it as the passenger side leaf spring cracked and has to be replaced. The Keystone mags are also old and one is slightly bent. I however have decided to become poor and go back to college so I lack the funds. The black truck out there is also mine. It is an Oynx Black 1994 Chevrolet S10 Super Sport. It has a Vortec CPI 4.3 liter V6 that is rated at 195 HP and 265 ft-lb of torque. It has an EL60 transmission and a 3.43 posi-traction rear differential. It has a 2.5 stainless steel exhaust that runs though a Flowmaster muffler and splits out into two tail pipes. That is all there is for aftermarket on that truck. I love that truck but it has been beat up in college and UPS parking lots. The car in the garage has since been sold due to a lack to time to work on it. It was my father's 1965 Chevrolet Malibu Chevelle Convertible. It has a 283 CID block with a 3 on-the-tree transmission but we were going to replace that with a Turbo 400 transmission that is sitting in the garage still. Obviously waiting for the day I decide to rip a Vortec 5.7 liter out of a Silverado and drop into into the SS. At which point my friend will demand I get the red SS bolts and declare it the SS of Death as it will be faster than a Corvette in a straight line.
I own this, do i join ?
Nice update, vizigothe, I see you are an official car geek. Installing the parts yourself is certainly cheaper, not to mention much more fun, wish I had this expertise (and the money LOL). Needless to say that Chevy and Camaro both rock; Camaro is one of my fav type (featured in my car album), as it is cool without being overhyped. @thecobra:
Well I was deadset on getting a 1969 Camaro but people wanted 2 grand for a junked up one with rusted out floorboards and no motor or tranny...bought the 77 with no motor (it had the tranny) rusted floorboards and rusted out rear quarters for 450 bucks and a 50 dollar rental on a car trailer. Boom best 500 bucks I have ever spent. Besides most people look at the corvette, my car, the mustang and then back to my car because you dont see too many 77s running around as clean as mine. Someday I am gonna get a alloy moser axle, 4:11 rear end and c-clip eliminators to beef up the big 10 bolt (thankfully the 10 bolt on my model is about as good as a 12 bolt) get some 16 inch chrome mags on the front, 17 inch chrome mags on the rear with some lopros and lower the car a tad to get a more aggressive stance....which will be insane because it already feels like you are riding on the ground. I also plan on replacing the cylinder heads with some 2.02s and rocker rollers...if you understand any of that I just said.
