So as of now the model converter for NTW is not finished so i decided in the meantime to go back to ETW and try to get some of my models in, just for practice, well in having a hell of a hard time. It seems the only tutorial out there uses the Pack File Manager but the PFM is no longer supported so i tried to learn the DBEditor as thats the new/better tool, but theres no tutorials on how to use it At least none that i can find

So im coming to you guys for help, can you either make a small tutorial for me that shows how to import/export rigid meshes/model in ETW, or point me to one that is already out there so i can get some practice for when the NTW converter comes out.

This will drastically reduced the time it will take to get all of my models in the game

Hmm, the guy who made the DBEditor hasn't been seen for a very long time, and I never really modded ETW, at the time I was still modding other games. Yet guys such as Alpaca, Husserl, Erasmus, etc.. would know about this.

From what I understand, though, the DBeditor is just a streamlined PFM, bypassing the need to constatly pack, repack, and determine pack types.

Well ive managed to figure out how to export a Variant_Mesh out of ETW and into Milkshape using the ETW mest converter but the models are all jacked up because the converter was only design to convert line infantry type meshes and im trying to edit the arty models, this is a big problem hopefully the NTW converter will be able to convert any variant meshes and rigid meshes for that matter.

So apparently the only way ill be able to practice getting my models into the game ill have to go back to M2TW

I posted a msg on Eramus's wall but he hasnt got back to me...

I'll ask around, Erasmus knows we need it for the arty, so I imagine that would be the focus.

Another thing i found out thats a little unsettling is every unit has 4 meshes associated with it for the different levels of detail, so this will make getting the units fully finished take a bit longer.

when we do get the converter i think the first model we try to get finished is one of the heavy MGs, this is a big missing piece of the mod right now.

I agree, and probably the first one should be something of a 'generic' MG, maybe like the WWI era Maxim that was utilized by all sides so that we could give all of the factions at least one MG unit.

I feel kind of out of place here, but if you're reffeeing to to PFM for empire, in my experience the NTW PFM works fine for the db files in empire
