Hey, everyone, Just joined up for pretty much the same reason as Neoptolemos - just not the moving to Sweden part. By the way, could someone please explain to me why the Swedes and the Norwegians hate each other (even if jestfully) so? The best my Swedish friends could come up with was more or less "because Norwegians are stupid", though I doubt that's entirely accurate.

Yeah, like a favourite of my friend's: What do you call an intelligent person in Norway? ... A tourist. We (the British) have pretty much the same joke if you replace the "Norway" with "Ireland" but at least we've got historical background behind it all (bloody terrorists). I've never figured out what it is about the Swedes and Norwegians. I've never come across anything between the Swedes and Danes in my experience - what's that all about then? (Swedes, Canadians and ice hockey are self-explanatory, I guess)

Just read up on the Stockholm Bloodbath (as it's call on Wikipedia). Yeah, I can see where inimicality towards the Danes could well be apparent. How on earth did a country like Denmark overtake a country as huge as Sweden?! (Please bear in mind that my knowledge of Scandinavia is extremely limited at best, though I do have great interest in the subject.)

If by "huge" you mean the size and landmass of the country, it is kinda decieving for someone with very little knowledge of the country. Hardly any people lived on the northern half of sweden during those days, and even today most of the population lives on the southern half. The north is just cold =P
