Krav Maga practioner reporting for duty!
Krav Maga, its very effective but I don't really like the dirty fighting of it. Though it can definately save your life.
Yes but it's very hard to learn and is pain to keep up if you want to be skilled at it.
Too dirty.
I have experience in aikido, karate and ju-jutsu by the way. As well as having free sparred with several boxers and muay thai users. I'll just say that I find the foul play dominant in Krav Maga as refreshing, as well as effective. But I for one does not look down upon other martial arts for that matter either.
you mean ju-jitsu?
Jujutsu - Japanese Jujitsu - Usually Brazilian
By the way for all those who find Krav Maga dirty, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu(thats how we write it in my country ) is just as dirty, people. The truth about the martial art is that in a real fight where you have to defend yourself there are no rules either. So during practice we train with stuff like 'distractions', a distraction is used the distract the opponent of what your real goal is (for example a throw) this distraction varies from a kick to the leg, to spitting in his face, pulling his hair, or even poking an eye out, as long as he is distracted, how about that for dirty? (ofcourse we don't really do these things during sparring matches, I'm just saying we 'fake' these things during the learning of new techniques so that we can apply them when the situation in real life calls for it) In our ground fights 'Randori-Ne-Waza' or standing up fights 'Atemi-Waza'(sparring) we normally use Judo or Kickboxing rules(in my school at least ). But there is the occassion that we allow punching and kicking when on the ground(usually as a disctraction to make the opponenet vulnerable for a technique that you want to apply) I agree with trance that it is actually refreshing to a point, it gives you freedom during the learning of techniques. Besides while in other Martial Arts like Judo when someone has you in a 'hold' you wouldn't be able to do anything, and with these techniques you would, btw 'pressure points' also come in handy at such a time
Pencak silat here, still quite a noob though! :p I've been learning for 14 weeks, it's really great.
Wundai I agree and you make exceptional points.
Thanks mate
Silat has some rather dirty techniques even compared to Krav Maga. Like biting out people's neck arteries. These things are best left to theory.
Naa in a fight for your life ou would do anything to win.

Ok guys update on my MMA career. Amateur-wise I am 6-2 won six and lost two. The last fight i did I broke two of my ribs. So im out lol.
Lol so how was the experience for you Turtules? I mean the winnings/losses/injuries not included
Well, the thing with Krav is that it ain't getting any dirtier really. Other arts or systems might be as dirty, but Krav Maga is basically dirty in physical form . I agree though, juggular biting is amongst the dirtiest haha. It's actually only seen as a last resort in Krav, considering the risks of catching a bloodbourne sickness. Turtules, good to see you're winning matches. I suppose you won't be doing matches for half a year now though? Or am I wrong? Get well.
Work on protecting
Ouch. How did the ribs get broken, don't you wear protection?
