Well Mamluk architecture innovations are built mostly on Arab architectural traditions of previous states such as the Fatamids and Abbasids. I think the most noteworthy characteristic of Mamluk architecture is their minarets. What I don't like about Mamluk architecture is the lack of color, especially on the exterior. Most of their buildings have this bland greyish-brown color.
