Designed to be compatible with Retrofit mod for Kingdoms version of the game, but should work fine for Vanilla Kingdoms game.

Use BBB freely without asking permission EXCEPT GRAPHICS marked "Tokus_xx" for those ask permission from Tokus. Just credit, us, OK?

Installation
-----
File folder structure is preserved in the ZIP file, however it may not match yours perfectly. Take a look at them and install the files appropriately.

This is basically it:

DATA\UI\ANCILLARIES\ *TGA Files for titles*
DATA\TEXT\export_ancillaries.txt
DATA\TEXT\export_vnvs.txt
DATA\TEXT\export_vnvs.txt.strings.bin
DATA\TEXT\export_ancillaries.txt.strings.bin
DATA\export_descr_ancillaries.txt
DATA\export_descr_ancillary_enums.txt
DATA\export_descr_character_traits.txt

**************
IMPORTANT:
**************
DATA\WORLD\MAPS\CAMPAIGN\IMPERIAL_CAMPAIGN\Addendum to campaign_script.txt

Select all text in this file and paste it at the bottom of your campaign_script.txt, above the lines wait_monitors and end_script.

Refer to the (example)campaign_script.txt if you are still unsure.

DALTHIUS on the MTW forum wrote a bit on installation as well:
-------
If you have Retrofit already installed, it should be even easier. Take the .txt files from BBB, overwrite the same files located in the "data" folder of the "retrofit" folder you find in the "mods" folder.

Medieval Total War 2 --> mods --> retrofit --> data.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when you installed the Retrofit Mod, it should have created a shortcut/batch file on your desktop, yes? Just click that and everything should work fine. That shortcut activates the Retrofit Mod folder, bypassing the MTW2 data folder. Easiest way I can explain it without it becoming overly confusing.

Did you update MTW2 to v1.5? If not, do that, it's worth it IMHO.

If I'm wrong, somebody please correct me. This is what I did and it works fine.

Dearmad put a lot of work into this mod, so I'm glad I could provide some sort of assistance. Small, tiny way of paying him back for his work.

EDIT: I could have been a little more clear in the above. If you just move the whole DATA folder from the BBB file and put it in the MTW2-->Mods-->Retrofit folder, that will get all the files where they need to be. Don't forget to modify the campaign_script txt file! Just click it and it should automatically open with a txt editor. Copy and paste the contents of the campaign_script txt file from BBB directly into the campaign_script txt file you find in the Retrofit folder. That part of the readme should be fairly clear.

Clear as mud?

RUN (if you're NOT using Retrofit)
-----
Run M2TW with the included BAT file.

Alternatley you can add:

[io]
file_first = true

to the medieval2.preference.cfg file.

IF you use RETROFIT check out Dalthius' instructions above!

VERSION HISTORY:
************************************************
v4.0 (v4.0a-fixed a very nasty bug)
-----
Dearmad Stuff:
Added Supply system with assistance from Pnutmaster!
Added new ways (Fight a battle) for the King to turn a potential rebellion around.
Added Princesses with their own political designs (trait line to affect their spouses).
Added Traits to coordinate with new scripted events (Pirates, Noble Council, Bad Harvest, Devaluing of Coinage)
Added potential for individual Generals to cause an insurrection, without it being a full-scale war.
Added a BUNCH of new Epithets. Hope you like them. My favorite is "the Grumpy," so far.
Added more loyalty effect to Court Appointments so that you can control your generals' loyalties since low loyalty is more dangerous now!
Added many unique History Graphics for notices when Kings ascend to the throne and when princesses come of age.
Added Guillaume de Sonnac ancillary- look him up, he's a brave Templar Knight!
If a general conquers Constantinople he may get a Varangian guard ancillary.
Updated game loading splash screen- the background is now a scanned portion of an actual letter sent by a Byzantine Emperor to the Pope written in gold lettering.
Checked EVERY SINGLE Trait's possible triggers to ensure balance and that all traits expected to show up WILL show up. This took FOREVER! Grrrr... (Note that some triggers still do not fire due to various gamebalancing reasons, but they are known now).
Added Virgin to Battle Trigger
Certain battle acquired traits rebalanced to trigger more often as they used to depend on Heroic victories which are very rare now to most people's mods.
AI gets slight command bonus, maximum increased sight bonus, and +1 loyalty for all generals.
Many, many adjustments to ensure better chance of occuring Traits- some less so, some more so.

Pnumster Stuff:
Added tracking generations which can lead to the founding of an Empirical Dynasty in the fourth generation.
Added tracking descendent of royalty through female line.
Added tracking descendents of Sainted (10 pious) Family Members.
Added a couple new traits and revised triggers for some existing ones.
Organized file (cleaned up Dearmad's messy order of things)!

v3.3
-----
Added in Varangian guard ancillary for those christians powerful enough to conquer Constantinople.

v3.2
-----
Fixed Poland acquisition of crown
Added in "Crowns" for Milan and Venice.
Added base +1 loyalty to all AI generals after the first generation so they won't go rogue quite as often (poor AI)
Fixed a few more minor errors noted by users.

This mod:
Adds in titles for every province along with graphics. Most titles grant a little tax boost, some grant other negative effects... like the will to go it solo (lower loyalty), a few have other traits.

Adds in Privy Council Offices like King's Treasurer, the Privy Seal, Chancellor, Marshall, Master of the Horse, etc... for both player AND AI.

Added in one Archbishop for each Kingdom who gets appointed. Also added in the Orthodox Patriarch! Yay!

Activated all Ancillaries found in game: Black Stallion, Body Guard, Ornate Armor, Custom Armor.

Added new Ancillaries: Black Stallion for Princesses, a White Stallion.

Princesses get a MAJOR OVERHAUL. They are interesting dynamic characters now. Hussies, prudes, lesbians,, fertile, infertile, beautiful, ugly, affected by the genes of their mothers as well as their fathers, you name it. And a lot LESS "secret lovers."

All character trait acquisitions acquired without solid reasons are lowered significantly so you don't get 50+ traits in 5 turns which results in a meaningless character with no particular traits- this way you get a few traits and they mean something. You get sense of the person.

Thanks to Rawghi for original inspiration on the title aspect of this mod.

I am using this in Stainless Steel 4.1 mod and together they are the most brilliant mod for MTW2 gamers. Not history anal fans or Total RPG nuts, just for people that want even better MTW2 gameplay! When SS 5.0 comes out and another version of BBB comes for Kingdoms/SS 5.0, that will be it for me, no more looking for MTW2/Kingdoms mods. Just SS and BBB and I am set!

As with other esteemed downloaders of this mod, I find myself unable to get it to work. I would also like to know how I can fix this. Is there a special way to install it? What folder is supposed to be put in?

Any help would be great. Thank you for your time.

yup , doesn't work. suprising how their is not one single post , not one single explanation , nor anything that will let you know how to install this mod. Makes ya wonder the point of even putting it up here. sad because the rpg stuff is the best from the modding community , DLV , SS , CAE all uses aspects of this. but God forbid anyone mention how to install it.

NO HELP IN THE README towards how to install either so save your time and download something else.

What are you, special? I got it to run in seconds yesterday, and it's the first mod I've ever downloaded for the TW series. All you have to do is read the readme, copy paste what it says to, then move the Data file in the download into your MTW directory, and then run the mod with the rtw.bat file. If you don't run it with the .bat, you'll get a CTD within three turns of starting the game normally.

To recap in short form, don't blame the mod maker for your inadequacy.

Mod works great, only issue seems to be that Faction Leaders take a three star hit to their command without explanation. I'm not sure if that's working as intended or not, but that's all I've noticed wrong with it.

Gah, slight mispelling. The file you're using to make the mod work is r2tw.bat, not rtw.bat.

yup I'm familar with that bat file , and yes if you want to run vanilla plus bbb and can figure out the maze of files to put where to manage to somehow not get a ctd after 5-10 turns, then yeah that can work. BUT it says this is compatible with the retrofit mod .;... WELL how can you use the bat file to launch BBB when you have to use the bat file from retrofit to have that working. can't use them both.... so when the mod says works with retrofit mod and says to launch it with the bat file in the download for bbb you can't do that AND have retrofit going at the same time. So how would you recommend having retrofit mod and bbb going at the same time, which is apparently possible sense it says it will work like that but doesn't explain in the slightest HOW to actually make that happen.
