• Not All Who Wander Are Lost

Frankly speaking, considering it is holidays time in many countries, I was not expecting much activity in the Curia in these past weeks.. but such is life, sometimes the biggest gold nugget is buried deep in the rubble, and such was August, curial-wise: some solid drama, a couple of well deserved awards, one new citizen and quite a good amount of discussion. But let's see those in details:

First things first, when the Hexagon Council announced that there was most likely going to be a revolution in the Tribunal, the first reaction from the Curia was of shock, basically, which quickly led to two new Discussions (The Tribunal Act and the Tribunal Expediency act), followed by two VonCs (Iskar's, TheDarkKnight's). All of those have been abandoned/declared invalid after that the Hex announced that they found a solution to solve the impasse the Tribunal was stuck at, by appointing two new Tribunes.

Following those, two new discussions have been started, the first one about VonCing Staffers, the second about the Curia and Staff/Hex interactions. While the former is purely semantic in its core, the latter is indeed central to the age.old issue of relations between the Curia and the administration, and everybody who's interested in possibly seeing those to improve, should, and it's really invited to, weigh in the discussion and pour in their opinion/views.

As per the passed Amendments, the one about Elections in due time has been voted in and has been later implemented, and hopefully this will avoid any further issues with delayed elections as we have seen recently to happen.

On the side of awards, we have one very deserved Novus for Jadli and another well deserved Modding Service Award for Curt2013.
The news of the month is, in any case, the latest successful citizen application.. the Curia exists, in principle, to reward worthy members for their contributions, so any new Citizen/Artifex is a blessing for the institution (and the site at large).. congrats to Maltacus then, and thanks to DFK for spotting this worthy candidate.

    Until the next time...

Good summary! The first section probably doesn't display the Curia at its shining best, although all's well that ends well with the retention of the Tribunal.

But hope for the future in the rest, especially the thread on the Curia and Staff. More ideas on how to make the Curia a constructive force which provides the opportunity to get people more involved in the site would be very welcome there. There's always been some inevitable friction between the groups, but promoting TWC should be everyone's focus now.
