  1. My Crossfit Journey 6-28-15

So today I started on the long and painful journey that is crossfit, I had dabbled in it before but mostly stuck to bodybuilding/powerlifting because I wanted to gain size but now I have decided that I want to become a better athlete for various activities I participate in (to be touched upon in the future) and I believe I have started my journey on the wrong foot :laughter:. Yesterday I did a typical powerlifting day, 5x5 Squat, Bench and Deadlift, going fairly heavy, needless to say today I as ...

  2. A Chinese Fire Drill

    A Chinese Fire Drill

Today is another fire drill which are always interesting.
Last year was the first fire drill for my current school. On a side note, one of the things that are never covered in orientation for new teachers are fire drills. The first time, you more or less wing it or follow an experience teacher or the students.

That is until a few years ago when I really started getting into WWI, and I decided then I wanted to do WWI Reenacting. I've watched countless videos on YouTube of various events - especially the one down in Newville Pennsylvania that happens every Spring and Fall, they have a Trench network set up there. ...

  5. Turtles and Politicians

A couple of days ago I was sitting at the bar with my friend Andreas, catching up on recent events (he is a long distance trucker and has some riveting stories to tell) and inevitably ended up discussing the recent elections and the abilities (and lack thereof) of the elected politicians.

Apparently the guy sitting next to us had been following our conversation because he suddenly uttered: “Turtles, that’s what they are!”
The annoyance at being rudely interrupted in our world
