  1. Just another job

Yesterday I arrived home early from work and decided to do something special for my wife. I washed the dishes, vacuumed the floor and even tidied up the rooms.
My wife came home from the market, walked through the house and then sat down on the sofa in front of the television.
"Sweetie," I said, "before you turn on the TV, isn't there something you want to say?"
"Yes, of course." the love of my life replies, "It's a thankless job, isn't

  2. Someone is following me

I have given up social media recently and am trying to make friends outside Facebook while applying the same principles. Every day I walk down the street and tell passersby what I have eaten, how I feel, what I did the night before and what I will do tomorrow. Then I give them pictures of my family, my dog and my gardening. I also listen to their conversations and tell them I love them.

  4. Perks of passing 50

It's been a while since I passed the magic five-zero and in looking back I could not help but list the advantages that have opened up to folks like me:

    • In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first.
    • Kidnappers are not very interested in you.
    • No one expects you to run - anywhere.
    • People call at 9 PM and ask, "Did I wake you?"
    • People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
    • There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
    • Things

  5. Turtles and Politicians

A couple of days ago I was sitting at the bar with my friend Andreas, catching up on recent events (he is a long distance trucker and has some riveting stories to tell) and inevitably ended up discussing the recent elections and the abilities (and lack thereof) of the elected politicians.

Apparently the guy sitting next to us had been following our conversation because he suddenly uttered: “Turtles, that’s what they are!”
The annoyance at being rudely interrupted in our world
