[edit] A Proper Empire: Terra Ingocnita

A Proper Empire: Terra Incognita

A Proper Empire is a modification for Empire: Total War. The latest version of APE:TI significantly alters most aspects of the game we have access to and offers you a wholly different gameplay designed to allow you to make much more interesting and difficult decisions as befits a proper strategy game.

A Proper Empire: Terra Incognita balances combat, morale, and battlefield effects. Pricing changes in units, buildings, and research costs will challenge you but new units, new technologies, and new methods of controlling your Empire will be available. Enjoy exciting new features like Manpower and Supply, a completely rebalanced economy and, most importantly, an exhilarating new gameplay feeling. The aim is to present the player with ways to employ diverse strategies and present him with interesting decision that offer meaningful choices.

Thanks to major contributions from members all across the community the mod now contains additional unit textures, improved smoke and sounds, historically accurate battalion/naval flags. Also included; over half a dozen new units, with more to come -- there are even compatible additional unit packs provided by members of the community!

[edit] Multi-Mod Sampler

The Multi-Mod Sampler is a released mini-modification for Rome Total War v1.5.

Now supported by NINE of the most popular and acclaimed mods for the Rome Total War engine.

This mini-mod is designed to give RTW players who may not have previously considered downloading mods a chance to view and play with some of the units from established, user friendly modifications. MMS comes in a small download which will not affect the original game installation, the download size is only 20MB and the mod installs to its own separate mod-folder.

Established mod users may also enjoy the wonderful silliness of being able to play with Napoleonic musket men and troops from other eras and fantasy worlds versus the might of the Roman Empire...Continue Reading

[edit] Writing Competition 2008

It's time, they said, and my words echoed the same. A competition which has been awaited for quite long now, gazes at the crowd, promising them loads of excitation in the upcoming days. And undeniably, we, the librarians shall endeavor to make it one of your finest experiences on TWC.

Only one piece of writing per member will be accepted, and it's up to the participant to decide the subject of his text. There's no restriction on what you can submit for the competition. It can be anything. For example, if you want to be creative, you can submit a story written by yourself. If you want to write something on history, you're free to go for it. What I mean to say is that it's totally dependent on what interests you. Besides, if you want to have a look at what people have written in the past, take a look inside the Scriptorium. Just make sure you don't submit anything related to Total War or modding, that's all. Above and beyond, freedom of choice is yours!
