The Saxons are peaple who with the Jutes and Angles, invaded England during the Dark ages. The Jutes aventualy died out and the Angles and the Saxons joined forces to make the Anglo-Saxons. The Ruled over England until the norse invaded and they all died out but only the small kingdom of Wesexx. Under Alfred the Great, The Anglo-Saxons drove out the Norse in the west of England and divided the realm into two parts. East England under the Vikings and the west and south under the Anglo-Saxons. Over the time of about 300 years, the Anglo-saxons gave up there pagan ways and joined the Romen Catholic churche while driving out the Norse. In the end, they where taken over by norse-desent Normans lead by Duke William the Conceror. At the battle of Hastings, the Norse king Harold Godwine was killed by a arrow in the eye and the Normans won the battle and England.
