ЯoMe kb8
From TWC Wiki
ЯoMe kb8 has been a member of TWC since the March of 2007. He changed his user name around December 2007 from just plain 'kb8' to 'ЯoMe kb8', motives remain unknown, mysterious and downright suspicious. He's had a largely short time at twcenter but quite active. He's most active in the 'Political Mudpit' and 'Political Academy' forums, but remains relatively unknown overall.

[edit] History
[edit] Beginnings
ЯoMe began his twcenter days as just an observer for over two years dwelling in and around looking at the RTW and M2TW sub-forums learning and seeking ways to improve his gaming experience. He first signed up to the forum in order to download the RTR mod for RTW. Enjoying the new found possibilities of mods he went on to find more, which is when he discovered the SPQR Total War mod by Lt for RTW and later, at the release of M2TW, Clouds Across Europe by Zephrelial for it. He was drawn to SPQR because of the Legion system and the vastly increased province numbers which just seemed more realistic and as though it was the game RTW vanilla was aiming to be. CAE for M2TW immediately caught his eye as it added in the 'Kingdom of Jerusalem' faction something he felt was desperately missing from the crusade period and vanilla TW.
[edit] Modding days
ЯoMe's modding career was short and full of problems and disappointment, doomed from the beginning. His achievements were minimal in map regions and bitterly disappointing elsewhere. The great and fantastic modifications he played inspired him to get involved in the modding community. After floating around the mod sub-forums learning what he could, observing what he could and getting to know people he settled for Clouds Across Europe and slowly worked his way up in the CAE mod for M2TW finally getting on board to create his own personal, but inevitably doomed, masterpiece. The Holy Wonders. At the same time, started later but finished before, he worked on increasing the regions on the map around Jerusalem to make for a better crusade simulation which he felt the original M2TW was greatly lacking.
[edit] Map regions
He began his map regions by offering help to Zephrelial, the mod leader of CAE, in either implementing the Big map mod, or customising his own additional regions. His idea came from simply being greatly disappointed in the Crusading aspect of M2TW vanilla. Crusades seemed fake and arbitrary, and the Holy Land seemed as though it was completely or at least largely ignored. He sought to see if he could add them himself and was successful after adding his first region, Ascalon, south of Jerusalem. He was subsequently brought on board and commissioned by Zephrelial to add a few more in certain regions to accommodate the added factions Wallachia, Lithuania and Jerusalem. This was added into the mod and was later used as a stepping stone to further map beyond vanilla into Asia and Africa by Zephrelial. His additions were minimal but welcomed and he now sought to concentrate on another ambitious project. He never received official recognition for them. [[1]] [[2]] [[3]] [[4]]
[edit] The Holy Wonders Add-on
The Idea of the mod was to add certain wonders, as in RTW, to certain regions and cities which were deemed important in that time frame in order to differentiate them and give them a certain bonus as an incentive to the potential conqueror. The Dome of the Rock and Holy Sepulchre were first on the potential list in order to raise the prestige of the Holy Land. It started off as simply just an idea, a suggestion to Zephrelial, as the map before it. Upon research and testing realising he was capable of at least trying he attempted it and successfully added the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem [[5]]. He went on to add the Hagia Sophia in Constantinople [[6]]and Saladin's Citadel in Cairo[[7]]. The trick was to add them as ordinary buildings but with great bonuses for the whole Faction. Zephrelial and the CAE community were welcoming and positive, however ЯoMe's problems had only just began. Upon testing it was evident the Wonders would disappear upon capture and many many other little yet if added up, big problems. There were issues in the core concept that they cannot be rebuilt and trouble keeping them exclusive for certain regions. ЯoMe was tied up outside of twcenter giving him hardly no time to work on them. Zephrelial offered to look into them and take the burden off him. Further problems were encountered when he lost his laptop from which he played and worked and upon receiving it back, had found the files to be gone. By that time Zephrelial had a new focus, and ЯoMe kb8 went off M2TW. Soon ЯoMe had grown completely disillusioned with the M2TW game itself due to performance problems and general disappointment at what could have been, which led to his lack of interest in modding and playing the game. That was the end of the Holy Wonders mod, although ЯoMe retained a deep respect for Zephrelial, who later joined him in The Pit, and Zephrelial later vowed to revive it after Kingdoms.
[edit] Political Mudpit and Debate
His one other contribution and still going involvement is the the 'Debate and Discussion' sub-Forum. He first started here in the religious forum in a thread discussing Islam and its evils. Here he met his arch-nemesis and recurring rival, Rush Limbaugh, and through the triumvirate of ЯoMe, LestaT, and MasterAdnin. In the beginning he was a rather radical and easily offended individual with strong views constantly clashing and being warned and reprimanded. He had an aggressive (sometimes insulting) style of debate and argument, since though, through experience and time he has changed in style, his character and his views and has smoothed out to the ways of the Pit slowly climbing the slippery ladder.
[edit] Debating habits
[edit] Iraq War
ЯoMe was vehemently against the Iraqi invasion of 2003 and has been a fierce and constant critic of it's conduct and it's repercussions since. In many a thread he has criticised Blair and Bush's intentions, motives, conducts etc. blaming them for it and the rise in the rift between the West and East and blaming it directly for the terrorist attacks on London on the 7th of July, 2005.
[edit] Israeli-Arab Conflict
This has been a major topic for ЯoMe, and where this is discussed he will be found. He has gone through many a transition in his beliefs in regards to this conflict. In his early days there were not many Israelis on the forum, when ЯoMe's views entirely sided with the Palestinians while holding Arabs responsible for the initial problem. Upon the entrance of many Israeli and Jewish members, ЯoMe's views changed somewhat leading him to embrace the quest for peace and a peaceful coexistence between them in a 2 state solution, founding the 'Palestine Independence' group which discusses the implications and paths to peace where terrorism, racism and extremism is not tolerated. He has always maintained the fault lies with Jordan, but is always against Israel's more questionable behaviour such as settlements and overly aggressive military behaviour and has denounced racism and discrimination on both sides especially terrorism. He has built up a notorious reputation as an Anti-Israel among the threads, however he has always maintained that he is not.
[edit] Arch-Nemesis
[edit] Rush Limbaugh
He has maintained an epic rivalry with Rush Limbaugh, self proclaimed Libertarian New Yorker, they have clashed in every topic from the American Presidential Election, Candidates, Israeli-Arab conflict, Iraq, Afghanistan, Constitution, Islam, Religion, America, Guns, American Civil War...the list is quite long. What has become evident is that they have more in common then they first realised a lot more in common.
