I have yet to find a credible source stating how many nazi members there were in nazi germany 1929-1945 consecutively. I disagree with the contention however that the vast majority of nazi's were violent or operators of concentration camps.
My contention is that there were a lot of bad things happened, for that many people to die it requires a lot of collaborators and murderers. The SS mainly (how many SS anyone?), the police forces were complicit as well as a number of divisions of the army. Does that mean that the majority of Nazi's operated concentration camps, of course not considering there were a lot of nazi's and armed forces that never came close to one.
I refuse to label millions of people (Nazi's and by inference the german population of the time 80000000) who were ruled by a totaliterian regime, I honestly believe the same could happen in any country given the right circumstances, the German people and the majority members of the Nazi party are no more intrinsically violent than any other people.
I am not a holocaust revisionist, there were a lot of bad people who did terrible things.
