According to the Syntagma:
Quote:
The Patronization Act
Any Patrician, Senatorii, Cohortes Praetorio or Magistrates can patronize new Civitates. Each is allowed to initially patronize six members, and then one member per month. The Patron must review the member before recommending him; he must then send a PM to any Magistrate with a paragraph saying why he wants to patronize the member and also a paragraph by the member stating he will abide by the rules of the constitution. When a Civitates is proposed, their name should be posted by their would-be patron in a special thread in the Curia intended for that purpose. All members of the site who have specific posts by the nominee that they think are relevant to the vote (either for good or bad, brilliant exposition or flame) should then PM them to staff, who would post them in the nomination thread in the staff forum. About three days after the name is proposed in the Curia, the vote in the staff forum will be opened and, if the member achieves a 2/3 majority he will be promoted to Civitates and receive a PM. The majority depends on the amount of active Magistrates.
Three things:

1) Make sure the staff member you PM is active. We don't want your comment to get lost.

2) Urbanis Legii aren't staff.

3) Don't post your thoughts on someone in this topic. PM them. To reduce clutter, the only posts here should be stating intent to patronize someone.

I would like to hear what you guys think of a member whom I would like to patronise namely MIMIRSWELL...

I would like to use THIS thread as an example of how great Mimirswell is at history and that he posesses good debating skills..

I think that THIS thread further illustrates my point...

THIS example shows that he is not only well versed in history but also in mathematics..

And THIS thread shows that he also is keen to help other members with their questions and that he uses other sources to further help his claim...

And I could also recommend everyone to visit the HISTORICAL QUIZ THREAD if they would want to see further proves of Mimirswell's skills in the fine art of history...

He still needs some more experience though, his post count must atleast reach 100 post first , but other than that I think that he would make a fine contribution to the halls of the curia.. I have had some conversations with him over PM and my honest opinion about him is that he seems to be both intelligent and pleasent to talk with...
So I would like to make him my first client once he reaches the needed post count and now I would like to hear what the civitates and staff members have to say about this..

Edit: The reason I first noticed him is that his name is reffering to norse mythology, the king of the gods Oden sacrificed one of his eyes in the well of Mimir so that he would gain wisdom, and I pm him asking whether he was nordic and after that I have "monitored" his progress...

I am to patronize Ecclesiastes...

Human beings will be happier — not when they cure cancer or get to Mars or eliminate racial prejudice or flush Lake Erie — but when they find ways to inhabit primitive communities again. That’s my utopia.

I'd like to nominate conon394 for Civitate. He is very active in the "Vestigia Vetustatis". His posts are well documented, carefully written and he mantains a calm and balanced tone. Here's an example of conon394 in action on one of the most "heated" threads (from the famous Alexander vs. Hannibal series ) http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?p=503415#post503415

I would like to patronize Spiffington. PM me your thoughts, good or bad. I feel he is a good member of the board, posts in many diverse threads, has no prior warnings, and deserves it overall, in my opinion. I am about to contact him over the matter.

You have to get him to write a paragraph showing that he understands the duties of a civitate e.t.c (see Syntagma) then you need to write oe too, saying why you think he'd be good as one.

Then PM both to a Staff member, who will put him up for a vote.

EDIT : See the quote in this thread's first post

eXc, I'dsupport you with Spiffington. I tried to persuade him to be a civitates last year but to no avail. If you can persuade him then brilliant, I think he would be a real asset.
