Hi,

I started a german translation of this mod. And I need help with some words.

"Bugged Grain" What is this. I couldn't found it any dictionary. Can somebody describe the word "Bugged"?

What value is "Mnai"? I never heard of this.

Where does 'bugged grain' appear? Give a little more info and we will try to help on such questions.

A minai is a common ancient unit of coinage and weight.

"Bugged Grain" appears in 'strat.txt' in line 437. It's one of the resources.

Is Mnai a latin word? Where in the ancient world was it used?

Mnai was a Greek measurement also used by other classical cultures.

"Bugged Grain" is not really "bugged." "Bugged" would mean that it has an error or problems (bug in the software development sense), but in this case we call it "bugged" because it actually adds to population growth to those settlements that have it, and those settlements that trade with the provinces that have it. So we've removed it completely, it shouldn't show up in game at all. Thus the notice is just there for someone looking at the .txt file, the player will never read it.

1 drachma >> 1/6 of obola
1 mina (latin) or mnâ (greek) >> 100 drachmai
1 silver talanton >> 60 mnai >> 6000 drachmai
1 gold talanton >> 10 silver talanton

>> common measurement in antiquity for medium price, between rich citizen price and state price:
- in 5-4th century BC, an hoplite costed 4 obolai per day, for pay and food.
- 100 triremes costed 600 silver talantai for a saison (8 month) >> price of trireme (2 talantai)+ cost of sailors and epibatai (pay and food).

>> it's a measurement for grain too.

Danke den Link kenn ich. Benutze ich auch dauernd.
Da hab ich das Wort "angezapft" auch gefunden. Nur macht "angezaptes Korn" nicht wirklich Sinn.
Also hab ich hier nachgefragt und habe dann erfahren das die Resource aus dem Spiel entfernt wurde.

This question is not directly EB related, although it is related to German translation. I beg the EB's team indulgence for posting the request here.

It seems that some people here are interested in German translations of mods. I am currently co-ordinating the translation project of Iberia Total War, and I would be most glad of a German translator. We already have English and Spanish versions. Italian and, we hope, Portuguese versions are being produced. If anyone with a good knowledge of German is interested, please PM me. Thanks! My apologies for interrupting your discussion, gentlemen.

I would be happy to do a few of the titles of the loading screens for you with German also (as I have the psd files). I can't do all the small text on the unit description ones, but I can change the titles at the bottoms for you and upload them. Just post the correct German phrases and give me a few days.

Yes, thank you. That would be cool.

I have to look through the files and translate them.

Could somebody help me with this?

It is a part of the description of Titvs Livivs in the export_ancillaries.txt. I don't know how I should translate this:

"He purged some of the worst excesses of earlier histories in crafting his"

Some of the histories before his, that he used as sources, included myths and legends in with the history, and he didn't do this.

Maybe that makes more sense?

na, so schwierig ist das doch nicht. ich würde das übersetzen mit

"in dem er dies anfertigte, bereinigte er einige der schlimmsten exzesse früherer geschichtsschreibung."

ich finde das eine gute idee mit dem versuch EB zu übersetzen und würde es mir durchaus überlegen dir zu helfen, wenn du interessiert bist.

What does 1+ mining mean?

{agatharchides_of_cnidus_effects_desc} at the end of the line.

Does it mean sapping or mining income?
