I don't understand all this about: "running the script when you play"

What is that about??

Start EB. Go to Imperial Campaign and pick a faction.

When you're in-game, click a settlement and you will see the advisor pop up. Read what he says and then click Show Me How.

That will start the script. You have to do it everytime you start a new campaign or load a game.
